Pokemon Movie XY 2015 - ORAS

Not all of it, but they'll only ever keep a couple of the battle tracks, Team Rocket's motto music, and the Kalos Route 4 theme (this is played whenever Clemont shows off a new invention). Every once in a great while they'll slip something else in from the Japanese version but that's about it.

It's annoying because they've left the soundtrack untouched before (a few Diamond/Pearl episodes like the Team Galactic three-parter and Ash vs. Tobias, the first five episodes of Black & White, the first two episodes of XY) but then it's back to business as usual. In fact when they rerun the first two XY episodes now they've shit them up with in-house music. And now the Diancie movie only used a handful of Japanese tracks even though the last 13 movies just kept everything.

I don't get why 4Kids was able to retain like 90% of the music in season 1 and now it's such a problem.

That's what I thought, too. It simply can't be all of it.

They were absolutely terrible in DP with preserving only 10% of the music sometimes, and it seems to be the same with XY. It's disappointing coming right after BW and how that preserved nearly all of Miyazaki's music.

Instead we got crappy fake Groudon, lego blocks and also starring Rayquaza and Deoxys, and Manaphy with Kyogre and Super Saiyan Ash

Hoenn region movies were pretty awful all around. Oh right, I forgot about the random Lucario movie.

The Rayquaza and Deoxys one was great. The advanced city served as a really interesting backdrop with the power outage.

It had that 'urban jungle' vibe that you get from the mainline Pokémon games, and I really appreciated that.

So two more years max for this generation then? Volcanion hasn't been released yet, and it doesn't seem to be a Pokémon they just shove into a mini-movie like Melotta. Then comes the inevitable sneak preview of the next gen movie (2000, Heroes, Pokémon Ranger, Zoroak, Extreme Speed Genosect.)

I assume that gen 7 will be on New3DS exclusively, then.

There have been a few episodes where the only piece that's kept is the jingle accompanying the episode title card (the episode where Ash catches Fletchling being one), which is a level of suck not even reached by 4Kids ever, so there's that.

Also the Lucario movie is the best. Though I haven't watched any of them past Darkrai really so maybe I'm not the most enlightened on this.

Dat Rayquaza.

I want May to show up in this but her Japanese voice actress has been sick for the longest time so I'm doubting this is a possibility. Would love to be surprised and have her come back, though. The last Pokemon movie that really stuck with me was the Darkrai one, hope this one is as good as that one or even better.

Lies. Veronica Taylor and all of the original voice cast are pretty hilarious.

This, I jumped to the subs when the voice changes occurred. Eric Stuart's smarmy delivery "these jelly donuts are delicious! Nothing beats a jelly-filled donut!" will stick with me for the rest of my days. Not a fan of the post-Johto English scripts, either. IIRC they're written by the guy who currently voices Meowth and James. They're... tremendously unfunny compared to the previous seasons.

I really liked this one:

It's not set in Hoenn, but it does feature two Hoenn legendaries.

One of the movies that seemed to actually have a really good budget behind it.

Even with animated movie, those character pokemon designs are still so simple and lacking details... meaning with Pokemon games 20 years from now, they will still look simple as hell.

The games and anime staff are far removed from each other.

Fools! The dub music in the 3rd movie is the best of them all, no joke, the music is just so beautiful at times.

At 0:15. In the scene where Molly is with Delia reading the book, it's such a beautiful piece and one of my all-time favs in the franchise.

Yep, I didn't mind the 3rd movie's soundtrack at all. I loved it from the very first time I heard it. Probably the best movie objectively speaking, but my personal favourite will always be 2000.

Entei was such a boss, of course Dan Green voicing him helped (and was the only one to talk, so that again made him extremely special).

I really loved the father-daughter relationship, it was so cute and it gave Entei some depth per se. Molly was absolutely NOT annoying at all, you really sympathized with her as she was pretty much an orphan, that's sad. :( So her thinking Entei was her father and wanting Delia (who she already knew) to be her mother wasn't really odd, it was tragic because she's so young so she doesn't know any better.

They should've elaborated more on her mother though, she had zero mention and seemingly she came back in the credits? Was this expanded on in the JP version?

It was a deceptively dark and mature in subject matter, and even in stuff like the colour tone and hues it was going for.

I also like how the movie made up its lore with the Unown.

It's one of the few Pokémon movies that have legitimate good stories, along with Movie 5 and Movie 9.

5... was weird.

If any of you didn't realize this before here you go: It was Sonic 06 before Sonic 06. O_o

3rd movie is still the best.

Anyway yeah, we multiverse. Have people even
seen Hoopa's unbound form?

Also I never watched the XY dub, did they replace Hawlucha's theme?

This movie does look interesting but teaser trailers always do. I question how much Groudon/Kyogre will have in it. Clearly we'll have a certain mythical and Shiny Mega Rayquaza and both are likely to be events, but who knows.

Just remember all the past teasers, with Lugia & Ho-Oh, or evil Ash

You never know what it may hold :)

Hoopa
sucks mega shiny rayray into anime multiverse, causes havoc, ash and gang tries to find the
Hoopa
of this universe to bring it back

Also the anime already has multiverse with mirror world

The only thing I remember from 5 is that Latias has a crush on Ash and since then cemented that Ash attracts female Pokemon.

I liked 1,2,3,5 and didn´t like 6 and 7 . Haven´t watched....and honestly don´t plan to watch the rest.

1 holds a special place in my heart. I´m scared to ever watch it again, because I might
will
realise that everything wasn´t as great as my 8 year old brain believed,

The Hoenn Movies were the high-point outside of Movie 1 and 3, in my opinion. 2, 4, and 5 aren't bad, they've got their strengths (well, 2 is kind of dumb, but 4 has the cool Professor Oak stuff, and 5 has a great setting)...

Movie 6 was great because it focused on someone other than Ash, and the Max x Jirachi scenes were touching. The Chiisaki Mono ending makes me cry everytime. :( Also "Gotta Dance" is easily the best Pikachu Short.

Movie 7, as mentioned before, had an amazing atmosphere. Loved the look of LaRousse, the feeling of dread as the whole city was shut down, everyone just trying to survive...it was pretty tense.

Movie 8, I feel is the most "artistic" Pokemon film next to Movie 3. The plot was sort of weird, but it's once more has a beautiful setting, and I love the creepy way the Regis were incorporated into the ending.

Movie 9 was pretty weak, a copy of Movie 6 more or less---Movie 10 was pretty good, but the latest movies don't seem that interesting. I haven't even watched anything past Movie 11, which was just okay, and Movie 14, the Victini, which was just weird and boring. Oh, and the Zoroark movie, which had really bad animation and was a rip-off of Movie 4. I guess the draw of them is bigger in Japan, where you've got giveaways, and the theater experience.

I really would be interested if this Movie goes all out with Hoopa's powers, and ends up bringing in a ton of Legendaries for a crazy battle.

I swear I heard she came back recently...

Apparently Eureka (Bonnie's) VA is apparently sick now, or something. She had to drop out of a Persona 4 stage-show recently.

I'm pissed that the English dubs of these movies are replacing the background music now.

Still looking forward to this, I was curious how ORAS was going to be incorporated into the anime.

It'll probably be factored into the show as well.

Advanced Generation had an episode that focused on the Kanto Starters (and some specials with the Kanto Pokemon), and later, the Battle Frontier Season took place in Kanto.

Diamond and Pearl did it really awkwardly. In the middle of Sinnoh, there was this random "Johto Festival", and Lyra and an original character (who shared the voice actor of the GS MC in that Raikou Special oddly enough) joined the gang for a few episodes. There were these obvious Johto Pokemon-focused fillers that, imo, really brought down what was an otherwise great season.

I'm guessing since XY is in the middle of things, we'll probably just see some Hoenn-based fillers here and there, but none of the upcoming episodes seem to mention any Hoenn Pokemon, so it might not be as randomly inserted as the Johto stuff in Sinnoh was. Wonder if one of the main cast will end up with a Hoenn Pokemon? I could see them giving Mudkip to Serena, since it was the underused Hoenn Starter compared to Ash's Treecko and May's Blaziken.

Well, there was that bandai announcement that the Hoenn starters will appear around March, as well as Eevee and two unspecified Eeveelutions. Kinda weird considering the timing.

Anime related, not movie related. We won't start seeing movie merchandise reveals until around March

Edit: Oops, saw the post you were responding to. Apologies.

Anyway, expect some updates on this in a few hours

So why can't the show use music from the game very much? I thought it was distributed by the Pokemon Company themselves nowadays. Surely that would make it easier? Sad to hear really. I remember the show having some great versions of music from the game, which was especially nice when the games were only on GB/GBC and the music was so limited.

Cool to see the third Pokemon movie getting praise. I didn't like it when I first saw it (was fairly young) probably because it wasn't "cool" enough - too much emotional stuff and not enough battling etc...I was young, so give me a break. But when I saw it again just recently I think I would probably consider it my favorite of all the movies now. The themes of the movie are more interesting to me now, Entei had an interesting character and the Unown were really implemented into the story well, they were quite creepy. I agree with some other people here that the dub soundtrack was really good. Never heard the subbed versions but it doesn't bother me we lost it looking at the end result.

The game even had some very nice looking backgrounds and colors going on....the area getting covered in crystal was pretty impressive, and I really like a couple of scenes in the movie, like the underwater battle the girl has with Misty and Brock.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with the new movie. I just wanted to repent for once not liking the third movie. Hopefully this movie ends up being good. If Hoopa is presumably the villain, I hope that means it won't feature a legendary sidekick character with a grating voice.

Serena is already doing Pokemon Idol stuff. Just seems natural that her next step will be taking part in a Pokemon Contest.

I also think there was merchandise showing a Treecko will be around and it can't be Ash's.

+1 for movie 3 being the best movie, I've been saying that for years, and I'd honestly say it's the only one that reaches the level of a legitimately good movie. Some of the others aren't bad though. But a lot of them are just kind of... there.

I actually haven't seen anything post D/P (well, the Zoroark movie was the last I saw, so depending on how we count that I guess). How did the rest of those movies turn out? I was in the habit of watching them whenever they premiered on Cartoon Network but I missed the Victini movie and then just never really got back on track. Are they on Netflix or anything?

So we're getting
Hoopa
which is great.

Then would the next movie have a Gen 7 Pokemon in it? Maybe? Or Zygarde, I suppose.

I totally forgot there were Pokemon movies.

Think the last one I seen was the 5th one. Must've been over 10 years ago. Still have my Ancient Mew cards from seeing 2000.

Might actually try watch them. Gone off the anime. Maybe the films would be better.

Pretty much. TPC will soon announce the pre-purchase tickets for the Pokemon XY 2015 and with it, an exclusive download code for
Hoopa
in Japan....... while we will wait in salty tears ;.;

Hoopa wouldn't be a download code, it would be an in theatre distribtion.

The download code would be something else, the Diancie movie had a vote and the preorder download code became Darkrai.

Source: Me, I preordered the ticket and went to that awful Diancie movie.

Omg that movie was awful. I couldn't bare watching the whole thing. The animation was nice though.

So you pre-purchase the movie ticket, get a download code for a specific Pokemon (Darkrai), then go to the movie theater to see the movie, in this case, to download Diancie?

Mega Luxray when? It's really odd it's on the main cast with Clemont despite not being a Kalos or Hoenn Pokemon, and I don't think it's in the XY Dex either?

Then again the posters never really show all of the cast. The Klefki short didn't have Hawlucha in the poster but it was there.

Yeah, it's friend safari exclusive
