What's wrong with Lumiose City?
I enjoyed it. Could have used some more post game content, and the giant city sucked, but I thought the pacing was fantastic.
- Story was a let-down after BW/BW2's surprisingly good saga.
- Rivals sucked.
An amazing step in the right direction, but after 350 hours I got burned out on the game. Im hoping alpha sapphire rekindles the fire.
I had a blast engaging in the x and y community though, battling with people almost every night for 3-4 months straight. My Pinsir is probably sad that I left him (Mega Pinsir ftw).
Things I liked:
Technically better systems and battling methods
Freedom of movement on grid worked pretty well
3D Pokémon models
Poison being super effective against Fairy (the only thing I really asked for of Gen. 6)
Exp. All meaning no real grinding
The Grass starter's final evolution
Things I didn't like:
France/European theme
City/non-battling stuff
The characters and NPC interactions
Too many Pokémon around
The moe artstyle
3D overworld graphics
Exp. All making it not a challenge
Music (sounded like off copycat of older music)
Things I didn't care about:
Catching more Pokémon (too many to care about)
The story
Playing the game (feels like the same game I've already played so many times)
I stopped playing after Lumiose City and just gave the game and 3DS to a friend. I don't think I'm really into Pokémon anymore.
I maaaybe would get Omega Ruby. Gen. 3 rocked.
I enjoyed it.
This is going to sound silly though, but the story sucked.
The interface changes alone make them leagues better than any previous game to me.
- B&W campaign and pacing emphasized the strengths of the series by playing with the idea of meeting only region specific Pokemon on the first run through; X/Y felt like it didn't have enough "new" to cover the wide area of land that was Kalos
