Does he maintain, brush, condition, and do other necessary upkeep to have a long volumous beautiful mane? Then he probably wouldn't be putting it into a ponytail.

Does he have unkempt, limp, lifeless, drab, sometimes matted, thin hair that he's got tied back into a ponytail? Then he's really advertising that he's too lazy or too broke to see a barber.

Note to all the haters in this thread: What you don't realize is there is a sizable portion of women who go crazy for guys with long hair. Ponytail or worn down, it doesn't matter. Certainly added a lot of spice to my dating life. You just gotta live a little and not care so much about what other people think.

I agree with this. It's probably a minority of women who prefer long hair, but for those who do you're basically a unicorn if you have a nice mane you actually take care of. Dudes are weirdly harsh and critical about long hair on other dudes.

A teacher at my school has a mullet ponytail. I tried googling for a good representation but none quite hit it as cleanly as his does.

I had a ponytail for 13 years until last year, when I decided to cut my hair short again just because I got bored of the look and was tired to spend like 10 minutes in the shower everyday, just combing precisely the ponytail (I have curly hair and that part used to get tangled a lot).

Having said that, I agree with others regarding you should have the hairstyle you like and stop caring what other people think about it.

Also, if the stupid nazi hair cut gets a free pass, you can sport a ponytail, proud, very proud.
