PoP: The Forgotten Sands Phenomenal Platforming

Picked up the Limited Edition for cheap and I enjoyed it but it gave me the impression that the development team were basically saying "We can make a fun Prince of Persia without breaking a sweat so let's not put a lot of time and resources into this one".
I think it was more like "The Sands of Time movie is coming out in six months. We should make a new Sands of Time game to go with it."

I really enjoyed forgotten sands, but leaves a little to be desired as far as ending is concerned. The story is as straight forward as you can get.

Aw, it pains me to see PoP 2008 get so much hate. I only played through it a couple of months ago, and I absolutely adored it. I even found all the light seeds, and got all the achievements.

If you're looking for a challenge, it's definitely not the game to play, but it's gorgeous, the music is incredible, and the platforming/acrobatics feel perfect. I also loved that it had next to no combat.

I should probably check out Forgotten Sands, especially since it's dirt cheap now. Although I'm not too pleased about there being a bigger emphasis on combat again.

Yeah I heard this is definitely one super overlooked title. 08 really burnt me off POP games, it was literally a game you could beat with your eyes closed and Nolan North has become a huge annoyance.

Will pick this up in the near future. Plus it's super cheap too.
Prove it.

So, like I said already, I only played the Wii-version and it's GREAT. Very long game (at least 12 hours), a LOT of variet and also challenge.

You get 'creation powers', so you can create a ring on the wall and also a 'mini tornado' that serves as a platform to get to higher grounds, and later on you get a ball that keeps you floating in the air.

The good thing is the graduality of the game. First you can only use the ring on specified platforms and the mini tornado as well. Then you can use them anywhere on the surroundings. And then you get the floating ball. And then you can combine all powers. It's really cool, because sometimes you have to create your own routes to platform through the surroundings. And then there's also things in the surroundings that can destroy your powers so you have to act fast.

Ok, that was a short description of the Wii-game, it's TOTALLY different than the HD-games and it's a very good platforming game. Recommending it to everybody, it's the real successor to Sands of Time.
