I doubt Capcom will do that since nobody buys Capcom games on the Xbox.
GFord said:The day Capsom announced a PS2 version of RE4 immediately had an effect on the potential total of GC copies sold since it was no longer exclusive and coming back home to the Playstation brand.
quadriplegicjon said:yeah, i dont think people realize how much this crippled the sales of the GC version. especially cause it was announced before the release of the GC one.. and it was made public that the ps2 version would have a bunch of extras.
I wouldn't say that unrealistic. Outbreak 2 is basically the most pre-ordered PS2 game right now at many European online stores. Remember that Outbreak 1 sold over 500k in Europe, even when it was offline only and got really bad press for it as well.CVXFREAK said:Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2 (PS2)

:lol Not gonna happen Capcom.
No dummy, he's talking about ps2 owners buying a GC for RE4.Link316 said:if some GC owners refuse to buy a game just because its no longer exclusive then that's their problem

It's not even out yet for PlayStation 2! Who is that IGN Boards guy shiting?koam said:Incredible sales (for a non-exclusive Gamecube game):
You fail to realize that while it may outsell the GC release in the long run, it certainly won't this fiscal year. Seriously, do you honestly expect RE4 PS2 to sell 2M copies in like 3-5 months? Not to mention RE4 will continue selling and likely go budget price this fall... if I had to guess total sales by March 2006 I'd say 1.8M GC to 1.2M PS2.SolidSnakex said:I'd be really surprised if it didn't outsell the GC version. Outbreak 2's already bombed out in the US (something like 20-30k copies sold it's first month). And Outbreak 1 only shipped 290k in EU. There's no chance this one's going to happen, especially now that the PS2 base can simply wait for the "real" Resident Evil game to show up. Outbreak 2 will be lucky to gain half the sales Capcom's expecting.Solid said:I wouldn't say that unrealistic. I'm guessing RE4 PS2 is going to release between November and December.Angst said:Isn't Capcom's fiscal year 2005 2005-04-01 to 2006-03-30? If so it would give RE4 on PS2 half a year to accumulate sales for FY2005.
+Aliken+ said:I will laugh if RE4 sold less on PS2. Like Viewtiful Joe 1, if I remember correctly the GC version out sold the Ps2 version, I bet they didn't expect that....

Sure, but RE4 sales are only about 2 months worth (1 month for Europe). Both games will continue selling, both probably passing 1.8M before the year's over I expect. I bet DMC3 will end up on top, though if RE4 hadn't stumbled in Japan it'd be tough to call.C- Warrior said:The numbers for DMC3 represent only one month. (March 1st release, March 28th EA release, and the fiscal year ends March 31st, so that 400,000 is two days worth of sales for it). As expected, DMC3 will outsell RE4. But then again, DMC1 and DMC2 outsold RE: Code Veronica (PS2 ver), REmake, RE0 each so it's expected.
Here's the full list of Capcom million sellers (not counting budget reprints, single SKUs only)...C- Warrior said:And to that one guy, yes--quite a few Capcom games have sold over a million.
typhonsentra said:Everyone seems to fotget that though. Hell, the Gamecube version at full price sold over 100k in it's first month.

And how is it on the overall-third party GC list.
jarrod said:Yeah, I remember the 1990s.
As was the idea that Capcom would never make overall software targets on a PlayStation platform.Insertia said:Yeah, in the 90's the idea of RE4 pushing only 1.2 mil worldwide was laughable.
