Post Your Gaming Setup: 2009 Edition

That won't be a problem. I worked at Circuit City. I know just how bullshit those cables are.

In all honesty I just think the 360 is a piece of shit. That's why I don't wanna drop even one more dime on it.

So why did you buy it, and if you dislike it so much then why don't you jsut sell it or give it away to someone who would actually use it instead of hiding it behind your TV?

I may think the hardware is junk but I still play games on it from time to time. I don't really have a choice when I want to play Halo or Gears.

I understand. After 5 or 6 hardware failures, my 360 went from my most played console to a Netflix and Rockband box.

Playing Rockband on the 360 can lead to hardware failure.

I have too much money invested in downloadable songs and toy instruments to repurchase it on another console. Pretty much every other multiplatform game is now bought on the PS3. I still keep the 360 around for the occasional exclusive.

Where did you get that godzilla poster?

I like how he tried to diss the board and then proceeds to draw himself wearing a ghetto wig and jizzing into his own mouth, while subtly insinuating that he took a load from evilore.

Whoops :lol
Yup. Dyack alt account?

And if a Mac is his "gaming setup", then no wonder he was pissed.

Guess I'm never allowed to play any Virtual Console games, because I'm not playing them on the hardware and controllers they were meant to be played on!
The property owners gave Nintendo the right to distribute the games through VC and be played on a Wii.

"Game room" -- 360 is missing from the picture since its out for repair. Also not in the shot (hidden in the closet) -- SNES / DC / Rock Band & GH junk

Formal living room - only the PS3/Comcast Box in here, hidden behind the TV

Goddamn, Fistula is even nuts from beyond the grave.

I've never laughed so hard in all my life. Seriously, editing the picture to continue communicating. I don't know whether to call the boy a genius or just fucking insane, but if he keeps it up, he'll become my favorite beyond the grave poster.

Why, I don't know what you're talking about. From here it looks like he finally learned to shut the fuck up.

It was about time that boy learned his place.

Haha, nice! Well done, sir. Well done.

Hmm, might as well post here. Moved my PS3 and X360 to my desk so I can use them with my awesome Sony FW900 24" CRT, but it does make it very cluttered. Will be even more so when I finally get around to putting up a proper surround sound system:

And the TV/consoles that I rarely use, as well as my HTPC that would more accurately be just called a file server:

Best monitor ever. :D Kinda surprised your desk has held up under its massive weight so far.

It's amazing. I wish I could find another one for a decent price, but yeah, if I did, I don't think my desk could handle it. Just the FW900 and the G500 has me living in mortal fear of one day coming home to discover my desk having collapsed under 200+ pounds of monitors.

whats the best way to cover cables on a wall? also, should i put my center speaker in line with my right/left front speakers or does it ever matter.

I've used those flat tube tracks to hide cabling along office walls before. What kind of cable are you running? Thicker cables or thinner stuff like speaker cables?

If you want to go the through the wall option, this is pretty easy to install.

Obviously not as nice as some of the people in here, but considering I'm relegated to a corner in my family room until I save enough money to buy my own condo, it's small and sweet.

I've been debating whether or not I wanted to get a wireless keyboard and mouse and do away with the desk setup, (TV has vga inputs of course) but I'm lazy and don't feel like spending $150 on a wireless keyboard which would make my flatscreen monitor essentially useless.

... fuck, man, your avatar... really? That's like the nastiest scene in the world from any movie and you had to get both of the times it happens in there? Ugggh.

If Cohaagen gave him air you wouldn't have to see it.

Just joining the club. One of the best purchases I've ever made. I've got a second one in the basement that won't quite fit into my current setup. Unfortunately, both are a little beat-up (I got them for like $100 a piece) but they're still leaps-and-bounds beyond most display technology I've seen. Eventually, I hope to pick one up that's in tip-top shape.

just moved out, good thing is that my buddy is a carpenter so we build the tv stand and the bed! witch we blatantly ripped off of a designer who sells these modular beds for 600€ each :D

love my 50" pana :D

wow i wish i had some of the gaming setups i see here. for now, here is my humble little setup:

But you have an un-suite...can you play and watch TV whilst taking a dump? If so then you would have the sweetest set-up of all!:D

I like your setup a lot. Very clean, and I always love to see classic consoles still wired up.

Your TV stand looks a lot like a stand I bought a while back, and couldn't bear to return because of how awesome it looks. I bought it to put in my living room, but I ended up selling the HDTV I had in there to help me justify the 50" I bought for my den last year...all days after I bought the new stand. So now I've just got an old CRT set in my living room, and one of those awesome tiered stands can't hold that big boy up.

I need to pick up a flat screen for the living room so I can put that stand to good use, because I really dig how it looks in your setup. Lots of storage space in the tiered stands, but it doesn't seem to take much space. Nice choice, kudos!

By the way, it may just be the angle, but it looks like the dreaded SNES yellowing hit the bottom half of your console? SNES yellowing is the worst, it took over around 90% of mine - a gross grimy yellow that makes it a bit of an eyesore. At least yours doesn't hit the top half.

Just moved into a new house. I have a few roommates, but the majority of the gaming stuff is mine. My room is coming along nicely, but while everyone organizes, I'm taking the time to dump my stuff all over and start doing a massive reorganization project.

In the meantime, we need a TV and some games to play, so I present to you a clusterfuck. :D

I'll post pics when it's all done. It won't look great, but it'll be fine as we all chip in and grow into it. As noted earlier, my room is coming along nicely, and will probably look much nicer much sooner. I'll take pics of those soon to make up for this.

For those wondering what some of the stuff is, I've notated a Flickr set here.
