I've had fun looking through this thread, so I figured I should contribute as well.
But first, sorry for the shitty picture quality, and I'm a college student, so this is just my bedroom... it's all I have to work with, and no, I can't do anything about the broke-ass wallpaper.
Anyway...
I got my iPhone chillin' on the bed and Full Metal Panic: TSR dominating the TV.
There's some odd absences here... games I totally should have like Metroid Prime and Ninja Gaiden... well, I sold the MP games in anticipation of the trilogy, and I need to get NG Black (replacing Sigma, oddly enough) and NG Sigma II. Also, BlazBlue isn't on the shelf because I'm still chillin' with my review copy. I should really get off my ass and support Aksys, I guess.
Don't worry, there's more games... it's not all this Pokemon bullshit.
I have some movies with people who aren't cartoons and who speak English. Thanks, WB, for the Shawshank Redemption case that sticks the fuck out and looks genuinely retarded. There's some stuff I don't have pictured, like my Da Ali G Show DVDs and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Here we go... this is the shit. I just got my Saturn last Fall, so I've been getting the games I missed out on for all these years. It's been... expensive. Also got a Genesis not that long ago for the first time. You can't really read the labels, but I've got Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra HC, Lightening Force, and Revenge of Shinobi. It's tough to read the SNES labels, too, but the games are Donkey Kong Country 1-3 (the first and last great games from Rare), LTTP, Super Castlevania IV, Super Mario RPG, and Super Metroid. The gold cart is Ocarina of Time, the lone N64 game that I think is still worth having. The Super Famicom cart is Rockman & Forte, because the GBA version looked pretty crappy and the music was more or less the Game Boy ripping ass in your face. You should check it out, it's cool. Oh, and despite having a Metal Slug cart, I have no Neo Geo hardware... yeah. But hey, for the time being, I'm legally entitled to play the fuck out of it. If SNK busts down my door I can give Ben Hermann the finger, because I don't have to play it on SNK's godawful compilations now.
GBA and PC game boxes. It's nice that PC games are starting to get some uniformity in their cases. The copy of The Witcher I have is the European version, because that one is uncensored and has teh tits. And yeah, I'm aware they recently patched that into the US version as well. The game with the squiggly writing is Melty Blood: Act Cadenza Ver. B.
Okay, that's enough shitty games and lame-ass anime. Let's move on to closer up pics of the hardware. Look at that goddamn skeleton Saturn.
Closer pic of my computer. Dunno if you can tell, but that's Bionic Commando: Rearmed on there right now. I have it hooked up to my HT shit, but I use my headphones (Sennheiser HD650s) most of the time. Do excuse the mess of wires under the desk... I had to fanagle with some shit, and I didn't clean it up. Oh, and that mini-fridge looking thing is my subwoofer. Boom boom shake tha room, bitch.
One of the things that people usually like to see is imports. Hey, how convenient that that's what the following pictures are!
Yeah, I like Beatmania. Luckily, I'm not a fan of the ones that came out prior to 9th Style, which is nice because they're really tough to find and more expensive than I'd like. Also, I actually intend to get rid of Garou MOTW in favor of the Neo Geo version at some point... just forgot to take it off the shelf... and I was like "fuck it" coz I don't really care. What's not pictured is The Witcher and Rockman & Forte. Oops.
And lastly, my most recent big-ish purchase
Now, you might think I've lost my fuckin' mind buying a monitor from Asus of all places... but, the reason is because this monitor is incredibly good for timing sensitive games. Why, you can even play Beatmania (the timing sensitive-ist game ever!) on it! The image quality is much, much better than you'd expect, too. Now, why would I have a dedicated monitor for timing sensitive games and an MVS cart with no Neo Geo? Well, because my next project is going to be to get a Supergun set up, so I can get some arcade gaming up in this piece. Once I get ahold of that shit... yeah, now that's when I'll have lost my mind.
So yeah, there's not a whole lot left that I "need to get." A few things here and there, some of which will be unpleasantly expensive... and one of which will be a Turbo Duo... but I'm getting there.
Anyway, hopefully you enjoyed this. If not... well, eh, I don't really care.
