My friend is telling me Ninja storm sucks. I've honestly forgotten. I know the villains are really cheesy and bumbling and there's a cgi hamster mentor, but other than that...

despite some of flaws, Ninja Storm embraces the whackiness and is one of the better PR seasons...and as of this writing, the best adaption of the ninja sentai adaptions (Ninja Steel suuuuuuucks).

Nah. Zen-Aku's ridiculously overpowered. I remember as a kid watching this thinking "damn they lost again?" after each confrontation. Zen-Aku was basically "ok remember when Tommy beat the Rangers down as the Green Ranger? Let's do it again with more episodes, special effects and more sadness."

Ninja Storm wasn't very well liked when it debuted, but the humor of it is a positive these days. Plus the cast has some great chemistry with each other.

That's its biggest strength I think. Same with Dino Thunder as well. The core group are actually nice to watch. They have personalities with positives and negatives that do impact how they interact. The casting was pretty good and the acting is decent as well from what I remember. Story is the issue but I wouldn't call it bad maybe forgettable, predicable, or boring. The action is good from what I remember. From what I remember liking about that show nothing about it had to do with the story save for the thunder rangers arc but that's because I find ranger vs ranger arcs fun and interesting. Also their mentor is a hamster which is funny.

I think Ninja Storm is also the start of rangers having powers outside of their costumes. Which certainly helps I think with more original content since you can then do more and different action scenes without having to always resort to the Japanese footage because you need the costumes. That I would think should improve the story telling because you have more freedom overall.

Huh, is that so? I recall really enjoying how it was sort of like MMPR for the early 2000's. Sure the whole atmosphere and the coffee shop(?) setting felt very Disney, but between the Ranger feuds and Lothor I found myself having a good time overall. The smaller team did indeed lend itself well to good cast chemistry.

I mean, it's a pretty legitimate question. It was the first Disney season and making such a comment when the rangers were on the news and whatnot does beg that question. Fortunately, it was all cleared up.
