Never thought I'd see so many complaints about something Mick Gordon touches. Even though obviously it's the implementation and not the compositions themselves.
The combat music is too annoying as some people explained. It always keeps going even if you just killed one enemy

It would be better if they turn it off as soon the enemy doesn't chase you anymore or all enemies in your area are dead.

It's not even all implementation. There's a great use of the main theme early on during the title credits which overall is just great use of presentation.

It's when you're trying to explore, soak up the environment and every 4-5 minutes you're treated to an incredibly loud music cue which usually leads to a prolonged piece of combat music that begins to get very repetitive/annoying even within the confines of an hour long demo.

Or like how in Doom, when an enemy encounter is finished it quickly transitions the music to an "end cap" to make it sound the the tune is finished. Makes it sounds less like the track was interrupted and gives you some finality on the enemy encounter.

I have faith they're coming up with a good solution.

Also: thanks for the updates gstaff!

I played up to where you get the Gloo gun and holy shit I'm loving the game so far.

It's so damn stressful though... I'm having a quick break to chill out.

Ok so the game controls are "weird" on PS4 (but why only on PS4?!) and it looks blurry on XO... Cool.

And again, STOP THIS MUSIC...

I enjoyed it. I see people have high standards here.

It's not "must buy, day one" by an means but a game can be something other than "GOTY" or "shit" you know guys?

Wow, I don't recall such specific complaints about a game in a while.
From what I've seen in the posts, most of the issues are related to audio and input lag (Which gstaff confirmed a few times it'll be addressed in the final game)

After breaking out from my apartment, I found a safe that requires a code near a weird electric chair thing. Anyone know the code?

I really like everything about the game except the way the music is used. It's too loud, sometimes it goes on for like a minute after the enemy has died and sometimes it cuts off so quickly that you can hear a "clip". That is like amateur mixing stuff. The actual music is great, it's just the implementation that is terrible. I already mentioned it on the last page but it's usage is so bad to me that I could barely stand exploring the area in the demo leading up to Hardware Labs.

I thought the visuals (both graphics and art design), atmosphere (besides the music ruining that at points), weapon variety, interactivity and level design were all great.

Can't find the demo page on PSN. Forgot to download it this morning before leaving work. Anyway to do so online or will I have to wait until I'm back home?

If you are in NA, then you have to wait till 11 AM ET where it should be released on PSN.

Still don't understand the lack of a PC demo....I am VERY interested in this game but I will wait for performance impressions before diving in.
All clues indicate the PC version is a mess and they know it. I would wait for some really trusty reviews that adress performance before jumping in the PC version.

@Bolded: A few months old preview article from PC Gamer and an anon on reddit (who didn't even know what specs he played in) aren't enough clues that its a mess on PC.

And our Bethesda dude gstaff already confirmed we'll have PC Specs by today.

But yes, its best to wait for performance impressions before making any decisions.

Urgh...I like what I've seen so far, but this seems like a terrible way to experience this for the first time with all that input lag.

I also got stuck because I jumped down to the helicopter pad after changing the scene lol Maybe there was a way back up - stacking crates or w/e - but I couldn't find it. Reverted to a previous save instead.

A minute into the demo and already turned off by the controls. Why do devs think this shit passes for a game with precise pointing? No option for 1:1 controls, you push the stick diagonally and the aim goes horizontally/ever so slightly up. The acceleration curve is too steep aswell with no option to adjust without a specialized controller. Huge deadzone aswell. Not helped by laggy 30fps.

The controls are worse than Overwatch at launch.

Big fan of Dishonored. Thought this game looked cool, but wasn't incredibly interested.

First impressions:

Game looks fine
I like atmosphere and design
The initial "reveal" was cool and got me interested in finding out what happens
Game UI / layout same as the Dishonored games

Controls don't feel good, like at all..
Music is alright, not sure it suits the games setting. It's way to loud during enemy encounters. Combat music is loud and repetitive. Then it will just cut out completely

I probably won't buy it, didn't really plan on doing so anyway. But these first hour demos are cool and should continue.

I guess you can't do anything after
going into your office, as the hardware labs aren't accessible in the demo

There are so many great games this year that people are trying to justify not buying a game with weird and specific complaints.
Must be why the majority of the complaints in this thread are focusing on the same two issues, using the same vocabulary to describe the problem. We must've all met up prior to agree on which elements we were going to complain about.

I'm not feeling this input lag everyone is talking about which is weird because I'm usually really susceptible to it.

Controls feel fine to me.

Yep, plenty to play for now. I am hoping for the best but there is no way in hell I am preordering it.

Well, the demo was the first hour, so you can't go to any area except exploring around the Lobby :p

Bad analog controls have ruined so many otherwise great games.

They either don't care, don't know any better, or lack the ability to fix it.

I used to think it was PC devs who just didn't "get" gamepads had trouble porting their stuff over to console... but that excuse seems pretty weak these days.

Specs as in Minimum and Recomended? Those arent much. People that were way above the recomended specs couldnt get stable framerates even at the lowest settings on Dishonored 2.

Im kinda overbearing in this thread, but I cant shake the feeling that they are expecting to ride this one out and pretend they were caught by surprise when the game launched. I was burned badly with Dishonored 2.

Actually the demo doesn't end after you go to the office, you're free to explore basically all of the lobby area until you get bored. Only a few smaller areas (like some offices in Medical) seem to be inaccessible.

I've never played a game where I smashed so many things with a wrench just in case they were an alien. That's also why I don't mind the music playing past combat - it keeps you wondering 'did I get them all, or is that plant an alien?'

Honestly, I don't know how I feel about it.

At the minute I feel like the gameplay is letting down the atmosphere and story, both of which are super interesting. The gameplay feels clunky, which isn't helped by the input lag.

I think it's the input lag and because it feels "slow" on consoles, because otherwise many elements of gameplay remind me of SS2 and that's one of the best things i can say about a game. I really wanted to try it on PC with m+k, and obviously to see if i can run it at 60fps.

Everything else is beyond interesting. Avellone you beautiful bastard

Someone needs to make a console controls for dummies book. These issues crop up in too many games even in 2017. Console shooters have been around for decades and it still seems mapping two axis on a radial input is a huge hassle.

I dunno, I feel like the music should suddenly turn off as soon as any mimics have gone out of site or into hiding. There should only be music when you're actually being attacked. Sudden silence is much more tense imo.

you can add it to your download list but it wont start downloading until you power the PS4 back on.

I think I'll wait and get it on PC if the port is good. I agree though, these games are slow of console. It just doesn't feel designed for a controller.
