Printable Gwent Card Collection

I didn't see a thread on this, and given the results of my own attempt to create a collection of Gwent cards for playing irl, I think this was worth bringing to everyone's attention.

I was surfing eBay for those Gwent decks that come with the XBox One Collector's Edition of the game. These things are going for $80+, and that's not even the complete set of cards (even worse, both decks only come with two of the four faction leader cards).

Then I stumbled upon this Reddit post.

I set out to find a local print shop that could do the complete collection for less than what it would cost to get just those two decks on eBay...

They turned out far, far better than I could have expected.

I'm going to do this. So I just take it to some paper printing store right? I don't need to make the borders or anything...they cut it up all nice and equally by themselves?

Apparently a bunch of those links have missing cards...do you know which is a complete high quality collection? And I noticed there is a blue background and an orange one...is that for different packs or different cards...I'd imagine for packs but not a big deal.

Yeah I went to a local shop and had it printed on thick paper, with a gloss sort of finish, and had them do a die cut for the corners.

The laminate would have been insane and so I cut my costs down considerably by going with a gloss. They've got a great feel/weight to them. You'll also need to create the black borders that you see there, because that gives them room for cutting (and it just looks much better).

So the exact details on my print receipt are as follows:

2 sides 4xc 240 gsm matt coated card
12 cards on one SRA3 page (the cards are tarot sized, 6.7x12cm)
Output 2 sides 4 colour (extra heavy print)
added black border to all cards
Trimming (die cut) rounded corners

I even got the foldable game manual that came with the actual collector's edition decks. It turned out beautifully.

I just need to get some 70x120mm plastic sleeves for these and I'll be ready to go.

Ah I see thanks for the headsup, sounds like a weekend thing to sort out. I'm tempted to put my initials on the back with a nice font :P Why not.

Any ideas on how to house them? 150 cards each right. Anyone up for designing a (paper foldable) box :P Made out of card of course.

Obviously the monster race is off-limits.

I've just got them wrapped in paper with a rubber band around them for now.

I've got roughly 66-68 cards per faction. I'm not going to start playing with them until I get them in plastic sleeves.

A printable box for each faction would be amazing; like the boxes that come with the collector's edition cards.

They look great. Nice job by that printing shop.

I need more Gwent. I want a mobile app or something. Or a multiplayer option in game.

It's such a cool little game.

This is brilliant. I need to do this.

Edit: just thought of this, has anyone made a rule sheet yet? Otherwise I'm not going to remember what every card ability does.

I have a feeling that if I took the effort to do this, I would end up sleeving the cards for protection. Hence negating most of the extra effort compared to printing proxies on normal paper.

Mmmm... looks tempting. I've got a few printers near me that might be able to do it. You'd really need two sets though (assuming the people you want to play against don't have their own set).

Very nice, I'm jealous. Though I hope you skipped the scoiatael cards and printed two northern realms decks instead. Your friends need a shot at winning too!

CDPR need to create an official set and sell it.

This is cool but I know if I were to try print them out it'd go wrong. I just want to pay a set price and have the final product sent to me. C'mon CDPR, do it!

Holy moly that's excellent! I got to have this!

So I have to go to a print shop? Probably a stupid question but I don't think I have ever been to one before. There are people that can actually create this and make it high quality like that?

Can they...even make some of them foil? 0_0

Those look really great. I liked Gwent a lot but I feel I've played enough for one lifetime. On the other hand, I still have those last few cards to get in the game...

I've not touched Gwent outside of the tutorial. My brain just can't handle card games.

Would still buy these though.

God damn. I need this. CDProjekt really struck gold with Gwent. They should seriously capitalize on the idea. A mobile app game instead that damn Witcher MOBA, physical cards they can sell. All of that.

That massive Black Border is a little bit too much, and you can see that the default rounded corners of the cards are plainly ignored. If you can look over that, it's pretty good!

Amazing.

But I would like it more if the special abilities are already printed in the card instead of reffering to the manual.

Thanks for posting this OP, these look amazing. Is the 300 card collection a single copy of each card or did you get also get multiples of the non-unique cards? And did you print out faction specific versions of all the neutral heroes/cards?

would've been a better CE item than the messed up statue

I do like the look of the statue but I agree that I would much rather have the cards. I love Gwent and I wished we got all cards from the game in the CE.

So much this. Gwent mobile app like Hearthstone would print money.

Of course to make this game work competitively, I'm sure there would have to be some rule changes like a limit of how many of those hero cards you can put in a deck (2 or 3?). But I think it can work. I'm not sure if it would be as big as Hearthstone but I know for sure I would play it!

Very nice. Great work by that print shop. I have done a lot of printing in my life and I can see a shop messing that up very easily.

this looks absolutely amazing thanks a lot, tempted to do this.

But like someone else said, technically, dont you need 2 sets of these 300 cards?

Also, which file did you download to get these results? I see a lot of different uploads there.

Holy shit, they look AMAZING!
Very professional finish.
As someone with the PC collectors edition (at least Namco Bandai changed my statue for a better one, even if not perfect), Im really jealous!

How much did they cost?
