Can a wall be any cooler than this?
The guy edited the original cover art pulling out all stains/logo's and such, upscaling the resolution to 80x60cm, 200dpi @ 15MB/jpg. Send this file to a prof. printing company and you've got yourself a pretty nice poster! I think it turned out to be quite awesome and I'm eager to get my own, but I'm looking for some more high resolution game poster art to modify, specific old PC games like Gobliins adventure games from Coktel Vision, anything from Apogee, ....
I've seen other game poster threads passing by and spent most of the day savaging off google trying to aquire some high-res art like the above, but I've had no luck so far. Can you make your own "art" like this? How do you upscale scanned box art/game manual art without reducing the picture quality?
Already tried www.thecoverproject.org and other sites, nothing of any use found...
Any help from GAF, maybe?

Unless you have permission to do so, which I kinda doubt.
Indeed. Im pretty sure even printshops dont give a crap if you have the right to print the image or not.:lolFlek said:many online poster printing companys dont give a shit about copyrights ;D
yes plzja30278 said:You can actually create your own posters pretty easily with ImageMagick. Find a site with a bunch of similarly sized images (e.g. screenshots or box art), and pull them down (wget --mirror on linux). Then you can use the ImageMagick 'montage' utility to combine them into a single image and add captions.

A Mario pixel art made purely of dark and light game screens would look great.ja30278 said:You can actually create your own posters pretty easily with ImageMagick. Do you still have a copy of the Jet Grind Radio art?jetsetmario said:some came from google/yahoo/ask image searches but they only get you so far. i got a couple from the various gaf wallpaper threads and the rest just came from following links off various sites to try and find images.

Had to compress it a little bit, but this should be fine:The Mighty Schwein said:If you could post a link here I'd appreciate it, I've never seen a copy of the MS3 artwork without the actual game logo. Where is the image from? It will come in handy if I get around to having some box arts printed then I can have my MS3 in any size.![]()

Just something I stumbled upon from a random place, don't remember from where exactly. The most large images I have are from recent games, but you can always mention which art from which game you're looking for and I'll see if I have something for that. The Mighty Schwein said:Wow, thats awesome. Where is this from? It's the first time I've seen the artwork without any logos on it whatsoever. Got any more? Particularly Neo Geo games, thats my love.
jetsetmario said:here they are from the original sources I got them from.
unfortunately this is the best image i could ever find for the jsr one, which is why i stuck to a 5x7 print for it. In addition you can see that I did a few touch ups for my print. I like all the ad print just fine but for framing I felt as though the negative space worked better. If you want to go that route editing it in a paint program is super easy.

and the mega man one is here. Again, I made a few edits to the image to better suit my needs.
