New Features:

  • Manual Goalkeepers: PES 2010 will be the only football title to offer users complete control of the keeper. Players can switch to their goalkeeper at any time, and will enjoy total control of his actions.
  • New Goalkeeper Moves: Players can now perform quick under-arm throws to their nearest defender to get attacks rolling more quickly.
  • All-New Animation: Key animation related to dribbling, running, turning, etc, has been reworked and enhanced, creating a more natural and organic feel to the way players chase down balls, change direction and move around the pitch. The result is a more fluid and natural look to the game.
  • Fine-tuned Close Control: The PES Productions team has worked to improve trapping of the ball and basic close control elements, giving the user more ways to spread and move the ball around effortlessly.
  • Manual Ball Request: The ability to demand the ball when running into space is now available to the player, and will be accessible in all game modes, such as multi-player, online, etc.
  • Simpler Skills: Moves such as feints, drag backs and upper body feints can be applied more naturally when taking on or trying to beat an opponent. The PES series has long been associated with clever flicks and tricks, and PES 2010 will boast the most to date.
  • Trophies / Achievements

Preordered PS3 version and used my GAME reward card points to pay for the express shipping so I will have this next week regardless of Royal Mail strikes! :D :D :D

I reckon I should have over 50% of those trophies within a few days of having the game :p

I'll probably stick to my yearly Pro Evo tradition - play a few friendlies, play a Champions League (or maybe Europa League since it's new) then jump into the Master League. The Ultra Stars will be born anew! :D

Looking forward to playing other GAFers online too!

RETURN OF THE KING!

Is it possible to have a list of teams present in the game (national teams & officially licensed clubs).
Thanks in advance!

Judging by the online beta the online mode hasn't improved at all.
It lags even against players who according to their profile are from the same state/district (North Rhine-Westphalia).
I've had 2-3 seconds delay (no joke) against a guy from France. It was absolutely unplayable. I pushed x and I could count down to 3 until my player executed out a pass :lol

Unbelievable..

PES is great for offline play with friends, but FIFA is still king in every other department IMO.
Go away, we do not appreciate your kind in this realm. :lol :lol :lol

Not getting PES 2010 because Konami won't put back Date and Difficulty information on replay saves. Here's a PES 6 replay save with that information clearly shown:

Without that info, Goal of the Month competitions like the ones PESFan used to run are screwed because you can't be sure a goal was scored on the hardest difficulty and scored within the month in question.

It would be trivial to make the change, but Konami refuse. So fuck them.

Broke online? No buy for me. I'm fed up with this serie: got fooled in 2008 and 2009 by Seabass's promises... not making the same mistake three times.

I ll buy FIFA for the first time since SNES age.

Konami sucks again...

no problem dude, you can still send it to me if you want :)

It's nice to finally see the Wii version being released around the same time as the others (even if a bit later), might pick that one up this year.

My Wii is barely working right now (launch unit) so I'm gonna have to fix it or buy a new Wii in order to play this game :(

I own a PS3 but don't want to spend 60 bucks for the inferior version of the game. =/

Im still waiting for any news regarding the PSP version, what improvements they made this year? Do they introduce the commentary in this version?.
Oh wait is a DS version announced??? ill buy that too :D

Awesome, we already got tournaments planned for the PS3 version at my neighbours gaming center :D

hi there,

A french website (gamekult) reviewed it and said that the online code is still crap and shows almost no progress since the last iteration (very few online options, lag , etc...)... 5 days before it comes out.

the game got a 6/10 mark...

Even if that the kind of stuff that can get better through patches, it's still a shame that Konami still can't deliver a decent online mode for what is one of its major series. Looks like they know they're gonna sell tons of games anyway. But not to me this time.

I played the online demo and I think it's a HUGE improvement over last year. It's very well playable. And no, it's not perfect. But in the last years it wasn't playable AT ALL.

i spend almost 300 hours playing the online mode in PES 2008 and PES 2009. i think it wasn't that bad if you looked for a good opponent.

furthermore i just wanted to add the fifa's online mode isn't flawless as well. i had several matches with random disconnects and lags.

I think stuff like that happens because it's kinda "in" to hate PES and and love Fifa. Regarding pure quality imo there is no reason that those games shouldn't be around the same mark review wise. They have just different strengths.

I have 25 losses in FIFA 10 because of the servers booting me.

Anyway I will be getting this game as every game of FIFA is the same.

If I don't like PES I'll take it back within the 7 day guarentee and I'll play FM2010 till next year and probably get the lazily made WC game.

I've been playing the retail copy of PES 2010 since last Friday and think it's a HUGE improvement over PES 2009. The final code of the game also is a lot better than the PES 2010 demo code. The reponse time is almost flawless and overall the game feels very tight and runs great. I like FIFA 10 too, but prefer the gameplay and ball physics of PES. I think PES 2010 is the best PES game since PES5.

Cant wait to get this, playing against the cpu might be a bit shit but playing vs friends in the same room is what I love about PES

I'm sincerely thinking about double-dipping with the Wii and PS3 versions of the game.
Originally, I planned to get FIFA on PS3 and PES on Wii but the FIFA thread advised me to stay clear of that franchise for now.

that's something i just don't understand: I have NEVER experienced a flawless online game in PES 2009. Never! Lag was just ALWAYS in (often HUGE lag...like 2 seconds!). I swear it's true. And even when i was playing against a friend who lives 200m from my house.

I know some people tell me that they don't have so much trouble with PES 2009... but I did...and so did all my friends who have the game.

PS: I add that all my other games run perfectly online... nothing to do with my connection.

PS2: I am a huge fan of the serie (I used to play more than 20 hours per week-end when I was a student... had my best gaming moments on PES!)... but with the next-gen, i feel like something went terribly wrong... and Seabass don't seem to really want to put himself into question (remainds me of Yamauchi in a way...)
