Problem with browser "back" button and GAF

Hey GAF I have run into a strange problem the past few days. I am currently running Chrome 14.0.835.94 beta.

For some reason, whenever i hit the back button (or on my mouse back button) I seed a loading icon, but nothing happens. It just continues to load and never resolves. Clicking on the "gaming", "off topic", or "community" tab instantly loads, but the back button doesn't work.

Anyone else experiencing this or something similar?

Back buttons works for other sites like slashdot, drudge, cnn, ect.
 
GAF been working like shit for me on Chrome for quite a while now.
I mostly use firefox now because of it, which pisses me off (but not nearly as much as having to switch browsers).

I was watching a youtube video that was making my MacBook Pro heat up and had the fans going crazy so I shutdown the flash plugin via Activity Monitor, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Only things I have open are VLC watching a 720p anime, steam, my docs, and a few other misc background processes for my printer and whanot

My CPU load is 10%
 
I'm looking at my extensions.

With the exception of adblock (which is off of course for GAF) and GMAIL notifier, I just have a bunch of GAF extensions done by users.

Do you guys have a bunch of GAF extensions installed too?

Okay so that rules out extensions it seems. I did not have this issue till about yesterday.

What I can confirm is that it occurs on both my work laptop and my home desktop. So I have two unrelated computers (w/ the exception of using chrome) with the same issue.

Edit: Oh and two different connections. One was work wifi, and the other is my home FIOS.

The only thing I can think of is some regression in chrome potentially. I might consider the database, but I honestly don't know enough about how GAF is run to be even remotely qualified to point a finger that direction. :)
 
I'm okay with this, what annoys me is then I hit the "go to last reply" neogaf logo and it takes me to the same random post, three pages back.
 
Damn it, what have you people done? It doesn't work for me anymore. For a little while it started letting me go back by swiping with two fingers which was a feature I don't believe I had before and now I can't go back at all, I just get that damn rotating loading icon.

Yup. It has worked once for me in past 24 hours. I tried PM'ing Evilore, but I know he is busy/asleep at this point. I wish I knew more to try troubleshooting the potential cause.
 
I was going to make this thread. I've been having this issue on and off all day today, but I've not had it before today. Same as OP. Back button causes page to load indefinitely, but actually navigating to different parts of GAF cause no issues.
Chrome 14.0.835.94 dev channel if that matters.

I've noticed that google ads are taking a bit longer to load when navigating as well, wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Same version as me. I really don't think it's our configs. I think it may be something server side. But again, I don't have the knowledge to point my finger. :)

Same here. Really annoying, works fine in Firefox. Anyone ever found a solution for this other than clearing cache?
 
Wow, weird, thought it was just me.

Also, Shockwave has been going ass wild in the latest Chrome beta. I've seen it taking 700mb or more before a restart.

Too bad I need Chrome for work, I have Opera envy right now.
 
Google monitors everything we say. That's quite creepy, but it also means that bugs and complaints are listened to and fixed at an astoundingly fast rate.
 
I thought that using the back button takes you to the page as it was before you left it? Making it a bit useless on forums and such.

It's useful as un-viewed topics are still marked un-viewed after you've visited one.
