I always feel so claustrophobic in that touring car with the tiny windows. I like bubble canopy/open cars so I can see the scenery and track better. But then again I always feel like I'm sitting so low I can't see the track very well ahead of me, so maybe I am silly.
The new lighting settings are very nice! Here's some examples of clear, cloudy, and hazy.
Formula A car @ Catalunya with "hazy" weather setting.
Looks so good. Great fun to drive around too - definitely different to F1 2011.
I have a Monza vid uploading as well
my sense of speed doesnt seem close to that, i have motion blur on full or am i missing something?
In lieu of no real multiplayer, do you guys want to pick a track and a car and see who can knock out the best time trial time?
I'm getting a bit bored just doing laps.
I might not make it this week as I have my last abitur exams and that means I'll probably be wasted the whole weekend, but if you need a crappy driver for the last place, I might be able to participate on Week #2.Sounds good to me. If enough people take part maybe we can have the winner pick the next car/track etc. Would be a fun way of getting this thread a bit more active.
Let's see how many people want in:
NeoGAF pCARS Time Trial Challenge - Week #1 - Asano x4 @ Florence
Foliorum Viridum
Three60

Could definitly go faster. Need more practice, this is my first time running "Florence" on any sim, loving the track so far.

Are you sure you're not upgrading to full? That costs more than the old team member. If not, try posting on the support forum and they should get it straightened out.Upgrade function doesn't seem to be working. They're still charging me the full 35€.
Also, wth happened on the 16th? oO
Touring cars, eww. All right, Asano x4 @ Florence GP, automatic gears, no other assists, I'm gonna try to get a lap time without going off the road or hitting a barrier!NeoGAF pCARS Time Trial Challenge - Week #1 - Asano x4 @ Florence GP

Just to clarify, let's do the GP and not short! I'm going to go have a few laps now...

We're allowed to use outside OR inside camera views, hopefully?
I must be crazy, but what settings do I use to get it to record my best lap times and/or show my most recent times on an overlay? I thought it used to do this, but I've tried both free race (starts at lap 1, goes to lap 2 etc. without showing lap times) and time trial (says lap 32/40, does not increase or show lap times) without success.

Haha...I'm a complete racing noob, and the main guideline I am using for myself so far is to take sharp curves at less than 120 km/h. Otherwise, I'm almost certain to get into a slide and have practically no chance of recovering it. Any tips are certainly welcome.Any tips on driving that car properly? It seems too stiff. Either that or I have my steering wheel settings wrong.

Cool, thanks. That seems to be what I was already doing naturally, since I think I felt it made sense to start on the outside and hit the apex like that. When I have a problem, it is almost always because I start the turn too quickly and go off the far side of the track during the turn. It's tough for me to know how fast to go into them, so that's what I'm trying to learn.Try these from iRacing.com Driving School. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxMSdvnm0Ms&feature=player_embedded
