But he's right. The forums are owned by SMS you aren't free to post whatever you want there. Same on neogaf, you have to abide by the rules.
I understand the forum rules. I guess that is one of the disadvantages of having a forum as game developer, next to the shitload of critisism they get?!

That's why I love Project CARS.
That sounded awesome! For me it's just that on 70% difficulty on a track I know really well, I get pole and never lose 1st place in the career. On 80% I have problems to not be overtaken every other lap until I end up in 10th place... probably. "Probably" because that never happens. I always push harder to not be overtaken and never can keep that pushing up much more than a single lap, then I spin out.

I might do some tests on the AI levels and see whats what.
My feeling is that dialed down Ai is less aggressive in taking their overtaking chances and also slower... like they are allowed only only x% of their car's power if they are not on 100% difficulty. They also seem to have perfect traction and stability control. That's why grass is not a problem for them and why they get better (compared to how good they are normally on the set difficulty) in the rain.
Not that I can drive on that difficulty and can keep up, but some of the really good drivers out there claim it's too easy even on 100% difficulty and that might have to do with the perfect traction and stability... at some point that slows them down in their maneuverability. Another feeling that I have is that the Ai is easier the more grip per power-to-weight ratio your race class has... might have to do with the perfect traction again... because it's not an advantage they have over the player there anymore.

Without being able to show telemetry on the AI cars, it's hard to know, what I do know is that the AI are running a completely different physics and tyre model to the player, one of the reasons why they don't get affected by wet tracks, and why they can drive on the grass and recover much better than the player.

I might do some tests on the AI levels and see whats what.
This is one of the issues I have here. They don't seem to suffer from tyre degrad and they come off the the grass like they have super-softs on.

Does anyone know if there are there any plans to rectify this?

I'm pretty sure they'd love to host discussions on the Logitech situation if they could but they can't afford to take financial penalties or other such sanctions* to be a martyr, it sucks but what can you do?!

* this is all speculation on my part, I have no idea if thats true!

Your NOT adding to it!!!!! You are repairing it because it isnt finished!!! And now you are saying you will remove me for speaking my mind? You do that MR Bell and i will come up to your office and shove the dvd up your arse.

GOAT quote right there.

To be fair, Ian Bell should be a bit more open to critique, although I suppose he is completely hacked off with comments about his product, unfinished or not.

As I've said before, transparency and contact with the great unwashed is good an all, but there are times when it's best to say nothing at all........

I can understand peoples frustrations with the bugs, I can understand the developers frustrations with the way people are presenting those frustrations, but.........

It does, at least to me, and my interpretation of the text based responses from Ian Bell, seem that they just show complete disdain for the people who've purchased their game, and come across really bolshie and combative.

I think he just responds how most developers would like to respond when bombarded with idiotic whingeing.

I know, it's how most of us would like to respond to the idiots, but this is business, and there should be a certain standard to maintain.

I can imagine if that's how any of us spoke to our customers at work, we'd quickly either have no job, or no customers, possibly both.

Well, I don't think he's doing himself (or SMS) any favours, but I kind of respect his bluntness sometimes.

Aye, but he owns the studio outright, so can really do whatever he wants. I bet his staff do cringe occasionally though.

I think Ian's responses are going to elicit a marmite response but me personally I love it! People have the right to be upset but some of the over the top ridiculousness just deserves to be laughed at.

I'm pretty sure from what i've seen of him over time if Ian could he would refund the guys rather than listen to them. TBH, I think him and the dev team would rather focus on the genuine issues and ideas for the future than clean up drivel by people who's sense of priority is so out of touch with real life.

Agreed, there's needs to be some decorum there. THis is especially pertient when the very same people who bought the game ALSO paid his company to develop it AND, in they're own 'Weapons of Mass Development' paradigm developed it too!

You have to follow rules and can't say anything you want here too.

Their forums allow open discussion about the worst parts of their game as people complain and even want refunds. They seem pretty fair.
True!. But that was not the point I was making.
There were various constructive threads, that were gone the next morning.
Nothing wrong about those threads, just a couple of people discussing same things we discuss over here.

Do they delete complete threads at Neogaf?

So is the Caterham 7 Classic broken or what? 3 and 4 gears have the same ratio as default, and it seems to have literally zero grip. Silverstone in the rain in that thing was torture.

The Ruf though :/.

That car is the bane of this entire game. I will try to do something with it, but it's not going to have good results lol.
I sometimes wonder if I'm playing a completely different game than some of you guys. That cars great.

How the hell do I get my photo mode pics on my computer? I've found some .MED(whatever they might be)files that could be them but then I can't open them.

It's manageable but tough. Perfect - unlike the stock cars and Caterham which feel like babysitting a bar of soap.

Quick question on Project Cars since it'll be one of the first games I buy on a PS4.

Do the cars still control like a bar of soap on ice if you are playing on a controller? I remember that being a major gripe I had with both NFS SHIFT games, and I simply do not have the room or will to buy a wheel.

If you guys want to continue to run the RUF, no problem. I think what I'd like to do in that case is run a shorter version of Oulton. How's Foster's sound to you guys?

I really like to keep the lap times low on these hotlap challenges, so they don't become huge time sinks. The Fosters layout removes all of the tricky bits from the full circuit too. You guys will get a lot more clean laps for your time spent.

Down for that?

I vote Fosters, because it might lure more people in to try and actually post their time. Seems a lot easier and less time consuming. If less than 30 people chime in this time, then, next time, we should go for a longer circuit and see how that goes.
