Project CARS | 'Start your engines' trailer

Looks incredible.

Day 1 purchase for me, just need to decide which version to get. PS4 one will probably perform better but the Xbox One has those rumbling triggers...

Is it still being published on Wii U?

Can't see it selling that well on that console.

Yeah... They already cancelled 360/PS3 but somehow still releasing it on WiiU.

The only logical reason I see for that is that they have a contract with Nintendo and they can't get out of it. Other than that there's really no logical reasons for releasing it on WiiU.

That first post.

So when's it coming out?

Just want to see what its like to like, you know,, actually play the damn game.

These sort of trailers showing short clips of cars from different angles is a bore and does nothing to tell me what the game is like to play.
The game has been playable for quite sometime now. If you want to watch someone play the game, find a video on YouTube. Tons of people backed the game and have been uploading videos since day 1. This is a trailer. It does what a trailer's supposed to do.

Will keep an eye on this, but as someone who's getting Forza 6 and GT7, is there anything special or unique that should sway me towards it?

Looks great, can't wait to see it on PC in its full glory :

Gimme dat Turbulence.

Great trailer, might have to pick this thing up to tide me over until Forza 6. Seems like they are packing in a lot of features for racing fans.

No release date in the trailer?

Edit: Also any word on XBO performance?

As long as the physics are good, its got a good track/cars selection, and a fun career, this will be awesome.

Little worried about how good it will be with a controller though, not looking to spend $400 on a decent wheel (wheres my goddamn GT wheel support!?)

No, it is a full hardcore driving sim with option to reduce down the difficulty of driving.

I wouldn't use the word hardcore unless they radically change the direction of the game just before release. It does lean towards sim a bit more than arcade but that's about it.

While I agree with you... When compared to Driveclub it is a hardcore sim racer lol.

To those that are into driving games. What does thiss have to offer relative to Drive Club apart from running at 60fps?

Yes, this is a sim, forza and GT are semi-sims.

Completely different games...

It would be one hell of a addon to add all those racing cars, real world tracks, actual career, qualifications, pitstops, etc.

Don't forget physics and game mechanics...

It aims to immerse you more in the racing experience than either of those. You have to plan for race ending damage, weather popping up and ruining your day, you got to pit, strategize, etc.

If you're happy with Forza and GT and don't see yourself needing more than you can probably do without it. I'm enjoying everything because they reall aimed to bring motorsport to a modern game engine, whereas other pc sims, while great, are built upon older tech.

Is there a car roster up anywhere?

Definitely looking forward to grabbing this.

Edit: Found car roster. Eh. Better than most.

I'd like a link.

I'm also curious as to if the console versions have all the same features?????

Edit** Why in the world are people bringing up DC? Two completely different types of games that are in no way are comparable outside of "you drive cars". Might as well compare Mario Kart to PCars.

Don't forget the flag system, a huge aspect of racing that console sims overlook

Wait does it have that? Do you just game over a race if your car gets totaled? That's awesome if true.

the curse of the racing game thread. brings out all the ignorance of the genre, comparisons, and fanboy wars. not even multiplatform racers are safe from this battle of bias.

Can't wait for this. I wasn't so keen on an early build handling model (didn't take any more than a few mins to get used to though) but the game was already great back then so I can't wait to see what this is like on release.

i imagine the AI is pretty spectacular? i thought that was one of the highlights of shift and shift 2.

Wii U was the first console version announced and I believe was a stated goal during the crowd-funding. It would be pretty scummy to cancel that version.

the handling + camera options of shift + large track selection + 60 fps = winner. might be tough for fm6 to top this for me

Ditto. Been looking forward to playing this on consoles for years. And I've put money in to support development even though I don't have a PC.

The very fact that it has more of an emphasis on actual Motorsport and a large track list over a unlocking progression style of collecting hundreds of cars puts this as the most anticipated game for me. The track list is looking fantastic.

I will finally live out my racing fantasy of being a GT3 driver in a Championship series in a proper sim on consoles.

Cannot wait!

I haven't been into racing games since Gran Turismo 2 and the Burnout series on the PS2. But I must say that Project CARS interests me. Not sure if I'll pick it up or not tho.

360 and PS3 were also part of the crowd funding but they polled the members and we said fuck it, can them. It's not worth the money and time invested versus what you would get in return.

The same equation can be said about WiiU (even more so) but they are not canceling it.

Racing simulation fans have probably a different platform to play on. :)

Well, yeah, but the fact that it's the only racing simulator on the WiiU means that anyone who happens to have that console and an interest may pick it up. I personally don't think it'll sell very well, but it should have an audience.
