Buy the ps3 or Vita get the other version free

Playstation all stars
Sly 4
R& C Q force

will be the titles available

Will they cost $59.99 though?

And do you have to buy them both at the same time, or do you get a voucher? Is it online downloaded games only, or retail packaged as well?

Not bad, not bad. Can only see myself taking advantage of Sly 4 cross buy.

I wonder, what's to stop someone from buying it on PS3, redeeming the free copy on vita and returning the game back to the store.

Free Vita version with PS3 version, lol. I see no confirmation the other way around

Better buy a bigger fridge for your Vita. I'm sure it's a download code.

Yup, this makes sense. Paying $40 or less for the Vita version and getting the PS3 version free ain't happening.

I'm not watching the conference, so this is just a guess, but I would imagine that cross-buy would be a digital exclusive thing. Otherwise, what would be stopping me from buying a physical PS3 version, redeeming the Vita cross-buy voucher, then selling the PS3 disc? There's gotta be some catch, so I'm expecting it to be a PSN-only thing where you get the Vita version free of cost with a purchase of the PS3 version.

Anyways, this is good news. It'll be cool to own these games on both systems, especially with cross platform saves. .

Sweet! I'm all over this.

Tangent, but whatever happened to that action RPG they demo'ed the cross play feature of at E3?

I hope third party companies participate in Cross Buy. I don't want to buy Final Fantasy X and Zone of the Enders HD Collection twice each.

With how things have been going with ZOE HD Collection on the Vita, you won't even have to worry about buying it twice!

I see this being an issue as well... how the hell are they going to stop it?

Easiest way I can think of is that it only works with digital versions. Buy digital version of PS All-Stars PS3, get it for both systems. Either that or all these games are going to come with "cd-keys" that attach them to your system.

This is great. I wish Nintendo did something like this, except giving me a digital copy with a physical copy for the 3DS so I can play games with a friend.

Either way, one of the two people would need a Vita, hence the point of the whole thing. Even if it's locked to the same account, it's still a nice bonus for people who were planning on buying both versions.

I will support the fuck out of this. The new Ratchet game coming to Vita in the first place is an awesome surprise. I wonder if the multiplayer will be cross-platform.

Looks like I'm buying PSBAR.

Well maybe there is a code, the code is both the digital Vita game as well as a online pass for PS3 version.

very cool idea, makes me want sly and ratchet more now i know i can play it on both. hope this is something they persist with beyond these games.

Or it's just PSN Store purchases which are already tied to your account. No need for codes.

It's what makes the most sense and is the norm everywhere.

It isn't negative. Just that the OP is wrong so why mislead people?
You don't know if he is.

This is a really strong feature that makes the Vita a much better value (assuming that games people actually want support it).

Obviously going to be supported only by Sony published/developed games. It's still a strong offering though.

I interpreted it the other way - I thought releasing lots of games on both PS3 and Vita meant there's no reason for people to get the Vita. Good that it encourages you though.

Should be a platform-wide feature when possible, it would promote cross play as well.

Good to see Sony using the relative platform/control parity wisely.

1. Buying the game at retail on PS3... how would that then get tied to your PSN account? I'm sure retail copies would have to come with a code for Vita.
Which means a lot of cheap codes will be available.

2. We can only go by what was said at the conference. And they only said Buy PS3, get Vita.

That's true only if you were planning on buying it for both platforms in the first place. PS Vita (retail) games have thus far been cheaper than PS3 versions ($40 vs $60), so if you were only planning on buying the Vita version this might get you to buy the PS3 version in order to get both except that will now cost you $20 more (assuming my scenario and price assumption is accurate).

So if I understand it right this encourages ps3 owners to buy a vita right? If you buy the ps3 version you get the vita version also so ps3 owners would be tempted to buy a vita and get some "free" vita games.

Well, Sony is now going to lose money for sure though, i get why they did it and it benefits gamers but they are going to lose some serious money on this venture.

Can't I just buy the PS3 version of a game and then sell the Vita digital code?

If so, expect a ton of ridiculously cheap codes on Ebay.
