PS Now 1 year sub for $99 now available

do you pay all at once or in monthly increments like Netflix? even though it's the same amount of money $10/month is much more palatable than $100 up front.

either way I'm glad Sony is sticking with this and trying to make it work.

You could buy like 10 - 30 of those games PERMANENTLY and without online hassle for that price. :X
Except for the part where you still need a ps3 hooked up.

Some people just don't get that most people don't still have both systems hooked to their tv now.

Is this per account or per PS4 ? Like primary/secondary account.

I mean, If i purchase it with my account, does my girlfriend have to use my user? or can she user hers with her trophies and save (in the same ps4)?

Nice!! I love being able to play some games at my parents without having to lug my ps4 when I visit. Glad to see the price is much more inline with video steaming services. And the subscription selection is pretty damn good. I have NEVER booted it up and not found something I WANT to play since signing up.

Hmmmmmmm... Now that's actually worthwhile. I can't believe they tried to get away with a rental option on imperfect untried tech to be honest.

Here's hoping they bother with EU and not make it £99 a month...

Was talking to a Sony rep yesterday and asked if they would just do a PS+ and PS Now bundle for one discounted price.

Then he gave me some malarkey about justified price and separate value. Guess that's not happening.

I went through the list and came up with maybe 15 games I might play in the next year. And some of those (like Pac-man CE DX) would give me some concerns about latency.

I just don't care about older games. If I didn't play it at the time, I'm really not interested.

All at once hence the discount

Awesome! Been waiting for a new price option for it and looks like I'll be taking the plunge! Really enjoyed the time I used PS Now in my three month subscription. It's also the thing that showed me the Vita was made for Resident Evil since I played through half of the campaign of Resident Evil 5 on it with a side of XCOM and God of War: Ascension.

Find it strange this thread is getting such low traction, this is basically a Netflix like subscription for a vast array of titles across many devices. Reading the other PSNOW threads, the chief complaint was the price by so many, why aren't they jumping on this?

Could be the $99 fee instead of a much more manageable $8/month, goal post changing, not interesred in the current catalogue, or maybe they're turned off by the fact that it doesn't include the entire library of PS Now games.

Very nice. This is within a price territory I'm willing to pay, but I have no need for the service. If I didn't have a PS3 last generation though, oh man would I be all over this. There are so many amazing exclusives on the system that people should play if they missed out.

I think the price is the issue. If it was 8 dollars a month its not even a question for me. Having to pay up front makes me think about it

It's just goal post moving. A lot of the people complaining were never interested in the service to begin with. PS Now can be $1/month and then they'll just shift their complaints to the library, latency, etc. It's the internet. People just like to complain about everything.

Wait, not all titles count? How can I find out which I would be able to rent with the subscription?

It's more Netflix not Prime
That's what I thought but conkerkid said I was wrong and that there were extra fees on top of the monthly fees. When I had PSNOW I didn't remember having to pay any extra fees either. I just wanted to make sure, thanks.

You're wrong. The subscription doesn't cover the entire PS Now library.

If the list on the IGN wiki is up to date, it's definitely not worth it in my opinion.

Not much on there exclusive to Sony platforms, most of the content still requires an additional purchase beyond the monthly fee, and I get more value out of PS+ for half the cost.

Edit :

Wait .. Which games in the PSNOW need extra fee? How do I get more info? Lol so confused

I just looked up the list that come in the subscription and those that don't, and now i'm going to skip this deal. I thought you got everything in the subscription. bummer.

From the games i'm seeing based on my 7 day trial. This package seems to be a good deal if you didn't have a ps3. Since it has the God of Wars, Twisted metal, rachet and clank, sly cooper, infamous, etc.

As of now i haven't found any games i have had to pay any fees for

Okay it seems like there's a huge library of games on PS Now, but not every publisher wants the full game to be perpetually available for on demand play, those particular games are rentals.. the others however are buffet style eat all you want for the duration of your membership..

So it is Amazon Prime model after all.

Not a terrible analogy, I don't think.

If the full library of games were available, I'd probably drop the $99 on it. I should look over the full library first. Let me do that...

Edit: If the list on Wikipedia is to be believed, there isn't enough even on the non-sub list to sway me if it were added to the list for the subscription. As I said before -- I'm just not interested in older games. I'd rather be looking forward at new ones. Kind of a strange shift for me, because I was always more retro-oriented before.

Which is odd because people clearly want to be able to play old games (hence demands for native BC) but how many old games can you really play. I like the PS2 emulation on PS4, enhances graphics and adds trophy support, so there is a reason to revisit the game (increased fidelity and objectives that I personally care about). That said, it's a travesty that they are not supporting ps2 classics

I tried out a rental of Crazy Taxi since I hadn't tried PS Now since the very early days of the beta.

Two things. One, wow does Crazy Taxi kind of suck without the original Bad Religion and Offspring tunage. Two... this works kind of well now. Visually it's sharp, hardly any noticible compression (not that this is a very detailed game I guess), and lag that is low enough to pretty much pass my unfair standards with it. I'm impressed that it got this good.

Tempted to do the week subscription trial to try it with a shooter, curious if the lag situation is as good as it felt in CT.

man I looooved me some crazy taxi. you are right tho without the Bad Religion soundtrack its definitely not the same.

When they offer the entire PS Now library for that price I'll jump on it. Not even the biggest Sony fanboy could defend that greedy crap.

It's just like Amazon Prime. If they didn't have the savings that they did for Prime Users, I would never consider it as well.

Did the trial and tried out some Uncharted 3. I continue to be pretty impressed. The visuals hold up fantastically, and while input lag is definitely still present, it's low enough that it's noticible but not game-wrecking (singleplayer; it'd still be slightly too uncomfortable for multiplayer, but I'm particularly picky with lag I guess). Significantly improved since I first tried it out. I'm not sure there are enough PS3 games left for me to do $100 for a year but I'd at least entertain the thought.

Gonna try it out on Vita to see how it is there.

I already have a ps now app on my Sony hdtv but my wife and I are thinking of buying a small hdtv for our son and I'm now thinking of buying him a Sony hdtv and a PS3 controller with a sub to ps now.
I know he'll love it.
The most annoying part is my 2014 Sony Bravia has 5Ghz but my PS4 dont wth

Aye I did not realise it was time limited either.
It ends on Monday in fact.

That should put the total list of games available to about 400+ (100ish PS3 exclusives, 300+ other PS3 games), but not all are available in the subscription plan.

It needs to actually work before charging money for it! I've got a 200mb down and 18mb up connection, wired to my PS4, and it's a terrible experience, 90% of the time it tells me my connection can't handle it, and when it does work it stops and breaks up 2 minutes in. Awful.

With all the threads/posts about how it works flawlessly, for ppl with slower connections, I'd say you atleast better do alittle more troubleshooting

Wouldn't know what else to even try, I'd get the same issue with Shareplay too, but streaming gameplay to Twitch YouTube etc from PS4 is flawless, and the same goes for Xbox and PC. It's just Sony's game streaming services that don't work, maybe a port issue...

Can you explain the "not all are available in the subscription plan" portion? If they are advertised, why aren't they included?

Some games have to only certain rental lengths and different pricing structures. I would assume any difference would come down to the publisher not allowing the game to be a part of the sub.

It seems that not all games are part of the subscription plan. Don't forget that ultimately it's up to the publisher/ IP owner of the game to allow it or not.

I'm not sure if it is completely up to date, but the list below details which are included and which are not.

Thanks guys. I'm going to pass on this, don't like the fact that they're going to charge me and then charge per certain game. I'll let it bake a little bit longer.

Unless the Wikipedia list has been updated in the last week I don't think it's accurate. I haven't been able to find an accurate list online anywhere. Someone in the Reddit sub was managing a spreadsheet, but hadn't updated it in a couple of months either.

Really hoping that Square adds some of their games back.

Edit: looks like Sony updated the list on the product page. Full list is at the bottom.

It worked very well for me once I plugged the ethernet cable into my PS4, but once the one week free trial ends I'm done. I finished up RE 4 last night, and that's really the only PS3 game I wanted to play since the 1080p/60fps version isn't on the PS4 yet.
