I think the better way of looking at it is that it's a new IP with a rocky critical reception going up against one of the biggest franchises in the industry with an excellent port of a pair of games that include one of last gen's greatest. Gravity Rush ain't doing too bad. :P

Not to be that guy but its Meta score is a 84. Not sure how that would constitute as rocky.

Great game too. Hopefully it sold decently in the US but I'm guessing it probably didn't :(

Anyone think we had bet on the wrong horse and should have gotten 3DS instead of Vita?

Yeah no. I'll ride the Vita wherever it ends up going. I had a 3DS for a couple of months and decided it wasn't for me at all.

A port outselling a brand new high quality exclusive. This is why we can't have nice things.

It's not just any port though, let's be honest. MGS2 & MGS3 are huge games, and having "HD" versions of both with transferable saves, touch-screen controls, etc... makes for an attractive package. It also has a bit more western appeal.

erm Gravity Rush had great reviews.

Erm, it had good reviews, not great reviews. 82% on game rankings.

And so, the "lol, no one wants ports on Vita, just exclusive, original games" discussion goes down the hill.

I just started playing my copy this week and honestly I forgot how much of a stealth game MG is... It looks and plays great, but now I just have to learn to play stealthy after playign CoD, Resistance and BF3.... This will be a tough transition.

Is it so wrong to want a bit of both?

Of course not. But the truth is that Vita owner is very receptive to ports. Just look at the Plants vs Zombies, an expensive port beating original and cheaper games.

I'd say bring on the ports and collections and whatever. And Gravity Rush 2, of course.

Nope. I'm super happy with my Vita even if it turns out to be Dreamcast owner happiness (look how many legendary games it spawned).

And honestly I belive as long as we get stable userbase of few milions buying games support will be still there.

Sony Ericsson got Minecraft as a timed exclusive to Xperia Play, lol.

Minecraft cross platform on PS3/PSV would be cool.

Do we know what the deal with MS is though?
I know they didn't develop it themselves, but it was helped along from memory and published by them on XBLA.

For all we know they can hold the console rights hostage, that or an entirely new version would need to be ported for PS3/Vita which I imagine would be a bit of work considering.

Minecraft is Notch's money maker. I doubt he would have signed over exclusive console rights.

Probably "console exclusive on xbox for a year". They'd probably need to develop a new version for PlayStation though, you're right there.

SF x Tekken has been confirmed for an October 25th release in Japan, features Near stuff, and PS3 connectivity.

Don't do that. :( Is it Europe only, or is it hitting the US on the 24th as well?

The game has been out in Europe for months. It's the North American release.

Also, I know it is a problem on the PS3, especially with big downloads and running out of space, but do we still need twice the room to install something on the Vita?

Microsoft became synonymous for timed exclusives, I dont think Minecraft would be any different. :)
