PS3 40GB + Extra Dual Shock 3 + HDMI Cable, Dell Canada (Only Today) $399, Free Ship

Thats a good deal.

The only hitch really is that its one sixaxis and one DS3, but the HDMI cable I guess makes up for it. Anyways do we have a firm release date for the DS3 in Canada?

399 Canadian dollars = 392.523432 U.S. dollars

They will likely ship the PS3 immediately, and it says that the Dual Shock 3 will be shipped later on April 15.

Seems like a pretty solid deal on a PS3 for those of you gaffers that have yet to pick it up here in the Great White North.

Free Shipping, of course.

I don't work for Dell, or sleep with anybody that works for Dell. Just passing on a good deal.

Fuckers. I bought again a new PS3 a few days ago for 430 euros (That's 690 Canadian Dollars) with nothing on it. I really envy you North Americans sometimes.

Wow the US dollar has seriously depreciated. I remember when it seemed like everything in Canada was at least 25% more expensive.

Anyway, this is actually a deal I may end up going with, because I really don't feel like waiting till June for the MGS bundle.

If I had a way to ship from Dell Canada to France I'd order it right now. It's a sick deal for us Euroites, I'd save like 180$, shipping included ...

EU import duties will rape your wallet though. Not a good idea.

I'd still come out on top by 70€, easily, even if the customs opened the package and added the French VAT of 20%.

Is that Canadian dollars? How does that translate to US? I have relatives in Canada.

They are virtually the same right now.

1 U.S. dollar = 1.01649983 Canadian dollars

So it would be $393.51 USD.

Edit: Wow I was beaten to death. How did I miss that?

Unless you can somehow find a way to work around it. Aren't gifts taxed a quite bit less?

Gifts aren't taxed at all afaik but if the package is lost you'll have zero refund plus the package could be stuck at the customs and it's kind of difficult to persuade these guys not to tax you. From my experience in my country it's kind of complicated to import heavy and expensive stuff without getting noticed.

If you're willing to trust me on it, I am willing to re-ship it to you via whatever method you want provided you paypal me the shipping cost to France (whatever that is). I am pretty sure they won't ship outside of Canada directly. I wouldn't trust some random person on the internet, but I am Canadian and we're good people. :P Maybe you can find a more straight forward approach - I am not even sure they will take your non NA credit card.

Alternatively, provided it can be shipped for around the same or less than the value of the DS3 perhaps I can pay for the shipping and just keep the DS3 when it arrives later even though I don't need it.

Yeah if you can't fit it in a body orifice then it's going to be tricky.

Meh...I picked up a used 60GB and bought a separate Dual Shock 3 for about the same price. Not at all a fan of the lack of BC on those 40s....

I already have a PS2 and I'd be buying a PS3 for the PS3 games... so I truly don't care about BC. Besides at this price it's more than worth it.

The only thing I'm considering is that they'll probably only ship it free to Canada addresses. I'm trying to find out how much it would cost for my sister-in-law to ship it back to me.

And where did you pick that up?

Used 60 Gigs are not hard to find.

STUPID QUESTION: Would a PS3 purchased from Canada be any different than a console purchased in the US? I'm assuming they'd be the same thing.

Yes it's the exact same console with the added bonus of a French Manual. Also periodicaly try to add it to your cart sometimes it will reapear at the sale price, don't ask it's a dell.ca thing.

It really sucks these machine aren't backwards compatible (proud owner of a 60GB), but I guess they had to get the price down somehow...

Edit:

Damnit..
