Blast Factor has grown on me. There's multiple layers to the scoring system that gives you incentive to keep aiming for better scores even on the easier levels.

It's the issue of the interest free loan to these companies based on points/money that remain sitting in your account with them because you can't exactly spend down to zero. Up to this point it seemed like it wasn't going to be an issue with the PS Store, but this minimum $5 PS Wallet infusion introduces it. When do you think they're ever going to offer some content for $2.01 or a combination of things that equals that amount?

The next time you buy something that costs more than $7.01 you'll be all set. I'm not sure if you caught that. You don't need to add money in $5 increments, it's just a $5 minimum.

WTF is wrong with the Sudoku download.. the "download" button just don't appear. There's an ad I can click on but nothing happens.. and it's not up in the demo\downloadable games sections.

Downloaded fine for me, but I have trouble playing multiplayer (keeps telling me no rooms found).

Game itself is a solid sudoku game, my PS3 was also hijacked by my non-gamer GF who for the first time should any remote interest for the PS3 since Sudoku was put on it, once you get use to it it gets very easy to input and mark notes (also found that it nice that it'll auto update your notes depending as you fill in the board).

Yeah, I guess I didn't think of that.

I think they should release all games at $2.99. Sure they get less profit, but at $3, almost everyone who owns a system will buy them (If you paid $500+ for a system, $3 should not hurt the wallet). I'd buy every downloadable and PS1 title if they were $3.

I don't know if I buy that logic (same could be argued for $10, $15 etc), but I have to admit a $3 game has some kind of weird impulse buyer juju behind it. Like someone else said I'm not even a big Lemmings fan, but at 2.99 I almost felt like I'd be insulting someone if I didn't buy it. :lol

Damn you guys make me what to buy these games tonight. Downloading Genji 2 demo now.

I like Sudoku alot. Arcade mode is a pretty cool twist. I can never get a multiplayer game going though, you need 4 players and people keep leaving or not enough players

It would be nice if their Canadian server wasn't shit and if I was able to download Sudoku.. I tried about 3 hours ago and it still wasn't loading.

the more i play blast factor, the more i'm impressed with it. i was a huge geometry wars fan when it first came out and although it shares similarities to the way it controls, the gameplay mechanics are much more complex. from figuring out the vulnerability of certain enemies, to chain linking and utilizing your blast and wave attacks at the precise moment -- once you get a grasp of what works it's a whole new ballgame.

anyway, just wanted to show some blast factor love. made it in the top 100 at #85 this morning @ 6.9 million. i think this was the first time that it all "clicked" and i finally knew what i was doing. :lol

I never had any issue with the Canadian server... maybe it's your connection?

Help me "get it" please. This game gets INSANELY hard all of the sudden on the 4th stage. It goes from extremely easy, to RIDICULOUS.

they key is to get enemies in tight groups so that you trigger a chain reaction. by grouping, your chances of chain-linking are higher and it takes less shots to kill multiple enemies. focus on hitting the middle of a tight group causing the cluster of enemies to become destroyed. the best method to group enemies is by using the wave to your advantage. when shit gets hectic, use your blast as a defense, and while everything is slowing down, tilt the controller to push those enemies into the wall.

also learn enemy patterns. for example, the silver guys are like magnets, they follow you no matter what the situation. the greens become aggressive if you do a wave attack and will stalk you like vultures. the ninja-star looking enemies are invulnerable to normal fire and can only be killed in a chain reaction.

i can go more in depth w/ the enemies if you like... just let me know which ones you're having problems with. hope this helps. :)

WOW... this game is addicting. I can tell not a lot of people gave this a chance, but this is one of the best games on PS3. Pretty deep. I'm up to 1.7 million which is pathetic, but still better than what I was before. The enemies are craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy opn the later levels. Truly INSANE. Plus the volume... Turn up the sounds, the explosions are :-O

After all it's not the "Canadian server", the problem is the "french Canadian" page. I created a new master account so I can have access to the english page and I have no problem loading Sudoku. From now on, I'll buy / download everything from that second account. (and by the way, Sudoku is still not loading on the french page... talk about a service)

Oh god no, I didn't think of this scenario, I'm just not going to tell the gf about Sudoku at all. In the meantime I can play Lemmings and pretend Sudoku isn't available yet.

Sudoku = GREAT. :) Very good way to relax, although I wish they allowwed you to play music from your HDD... WHY DOESN'T ANY GAME DO THIS SONY?

I don't mind that feature but I don't have any music to play aside from Hootie and the Blowfish and Outkast. T_T

My GF was hooked on fl0w for awhile, so under the pretense that the basic gameplay elements haven't been drastically altered, she'd probably go bananas over the PS3 incarnation!

She has a passing interest in Sudoku, but really sucks at it.

In case anyone cares, a new GT HD video went up on the Honk Kong store (probably Japan as well but I didn't check). It features a Nissan Maxima in this one. I haven't downloaded this one yet, but the GT HD Ferrari video was nice

Hopefully the NA crowd will get something nice... :(

The NA crowd (like me) should already have Honk Kong and Japan accounts set up so that they don't have to deal with this region bullshit.

Even though you can't purchase anything out of those Asian stores, you can still get demos and videos first, long before they hit the NA store. I set up a Honk Kong account last night and downloaded the Ridge Racer 7 demo and the GT HD Ferrari video.

I set up all my other accounts last night.

Bill0527 - NA
Bill0527jpn - Japan
Bill0527hk - Honk Kong

Ohh, good idea. We still can't buy premium content though, right?

No you can't buy premium content, but its still worth it to get the demos and videos first.

I also find it totally ****ing hilarious that I download faster off the Honk Kong servers than I do the NA servers and I'm located in Indiana. Its still slow, took me about 2 hours to get the RR7 demo, but still much faster than the NA store for a file the same size as the RR7 demo.

Is the Hong Kong site identical to the Japanese one, but in English? I.e they'll get the GTHD demo too?

I have a Japanese account set up but hardly ever use it because most of the good stuff at the moment is on the US store

Christmas Locoroco level is available for PSP on the JPN PlayStation Store. For free. Just plug the PSP into the PS3 via USB and donwload.

Is there a way to get one of your IDs (for me the US one) sign in automatically? Then if I want the JPN/HK store ID signed in I can do that manually (sign out, sign in with new one)

At the moment I have to choose when the machine starts up which is annoying

Hit Triangle on the User icon.

Automatic Log In > ON/OFF

Any word on the next PS1 batch?
I know some outlets were saying that it would be a monday thing. (even though Sony never said it that I am aware of)

Do the Hong Kong and Japan PS stores differ as much as the Japan and NA store does?

Is there any real advantage for me if I already have a NA and Japan account to sign up for a Hong Kong account?

What if I didn't buy the Locoroco game can I still play this Chirstmas theme demo?
I know that I'm apart of the part, but I will be getting the game this year.

I haven't seen a difference other than the fact I download much faster from the Hong Kong servers.

I set up a Hong Kong account first, because the setup was almost entirely in English. I then only had to Google a Honk Kong address.

The Japanese account was a bitch to set up because I don't understand anything in Japanese. I had to hunt down websites that had pictures with captions that would tell me what I should do at each step of the setup.

I just made a HK account and it was very painless. Like said before, it was all in English, and I didn't even have to get a real HK address. I made all info up with random letters and it let me create the account.

Downloading RR7 right now
