PS3 Owners...... I need help. AC or UDF for Nov./Dec.

If I were you I would keep in mind the recent trend of sony fans acting like average games are the second coming of jesus and attempting to blame less than stellar reviews on an industry wide conspiracy.

You're being a little harsh on AC aren't you?

Graphically, it is no contest...Assassin's Creed wins in that department, hands down. It looks UNBELIEVABLE.

I really can't believe what they pulled off with AC. How is the 360/PS3 able to output graphics like that??? Simply amazing.

Uh, did you play Uncharted?

Nope, but I've seen high quality HD movies of both games, and AC looks substantially better, IMO. AC looks better than ANY game I have seen this year.

The combat is what makes AC questionable. Everything else is gold, though.

Rent both games. chances are, you'll end up liking both games and then you'd have to start another thread like this asking GAF.

But a lot of people without Uncharted avatars also recommended Uncharted. What then, man? :lol

Speaking of avatars, yours does very bad things to me every time I see it.

This is also the bestest of all answers, mainly because I don't think either game is as flawlessly insta-buy awesome as Ratchet was. They're both good, but have particular quirks that may rub people the wrong way.

Uncharted. Just seems to be a more accessible game with a much better story and better visuals.

Based on the demo, I can already tell it's going to easily top Ratchet for me.

Of the footage I've seen of Assasin's Creed, I'm just not sold on the gameplay.

Well, that explains it. Play it, and you will see. Uncharted looks unbelievable while you are playing it. Insane stuff.

Maxwell House doesn't own a PS3 and has no intention of getting one. He wouldn't be the one to ask.

One's multiplatform and one's PS3 exclusive, and a lot of people will judge the both of these games for better or for worse based on those premises and nothing else.

It's a crying shame, I think both games are going to be absolutely amazing. I'm glad I'm not like you in having to pick one 3;

Option 3: Buy Warhawk if you haven't already. I just got back from a very intense CTF with 20+ people swarming the flag with no slowdown. :D

We lost. :(

I think AC will come out on top. Although I'm not a ps3 owner YET, mine's in the mail :D

From an early report I saw in another thread, the ps3 version of AC is great. In fact every comment about the retail version of AC indicates that it'll be mindblowing. Can't wait!

If the PS3 version turns out Ok, I say get AC. It seems to be doing something very different and that makes it worth a look IMO.

Hear this man.

but yeah, after the awesome demo, ND's Uncharted

It would be nice if they gave us a playable demo of Assassin's Creed, especially since it's attempting to break a new IP into one of the most crowded holiday seasons of "must play" titles I've seen in a long time. The Uncharted demo is quite good, but all I'm gonna say is rentals/Gamefly are good for undecisive people.

I'm in the same boat after having seen some vids of Assassin's Creed and getting into the hype after reading parts of the official thread. However, I actually got to play Uncharted and Assassin's Creed is from a company that I don't particularly like to begin with. I'm going to go with Uncharted for now and wait for more reviews of Assassin's Creed to see just how the game pans out. Plus there's the whole Ubiport on PS3 factor so if there's one game to wait on, it's Assassin's Creed.

lol :lol ... :| no!

If you know you love Uncharted, then go with Uncharted. I wasn't too impressed with the Uncharted demo, so I'm leaning towards Assassin's Creed. If there is a Fry's electronics near you Assassin's Creed will be selling for $39.99 for 360 and PS3 versions. Maybe that will help soften the blow on the wallet?

WTF? I wonder if the Austin Fry's will do the same thing. I've never seen them introduce a PS3 game at that price, though.

Is this an advertised special for a specified time?

I mean, I'm on the Uncharted bandwagon first and foremost, but if they let AC go for $40 (and the reviews don't suck) I might take a look.

Though, I already have COD4 and Lego Star Wars to chew through, and I've really only played a little bit of Skate, and then there are the skill points in R&C to be had, and..

It's a great life if you don't weaken.

It's been confirmed to be in the ads for the west coast stores. Check your local newspaper's website's newspaper ads. It was in the sports section of the LA Times and someone else confirmed it for the the ad in the Seattle times.

According to the ad, it will be in stores Thursday by 5pm.

I'd say Uncharted. You've already played the demo and liked it, so it's the sure thing.

Assassin's Creed is more of a risk that:

A. The game may not turn out good

B. The game may have a shitty PS3 port

I thought the ps3 wasn't a port and was being developed separate from the xbox360 version. Oh well I'm still on the fence. The game intrigues me though!

I hope that's the case.

Just wait for the reviews. Anyone recommending one over the other at this point is just a fanboy. Unless they somehow have played both.

Well, I wouldn't say that.

He's played the Uncharted demo and likes it. So Uncharted is a sure thing. He hasn't played Assassin's Creed so he may not like it. It's a bigger risk.

You don't have to be a fanboy to suggest going for the sure thing now and waiting to see how the risk pans out.

if AC turns out to be a quality port, then i'm going with AC

asking for uncharted as a christmas gift

wheres my fucking LBP psn release?

I don't think the quality of the PS3 port of AC should be enough of a factor to worry about it being a good game or not - Madden on the PS3 wasn't a bad game if it was your only option - it was just inferior to the 360 version, and they went on record to say that one was better than the other. AC isn't a port from a lead platform on either console; it was done like CoD4, where there they have separate teams working on each platform. If there are differences, they're minute at best. Also unlike other horrible Ubisoft PS3 versions is the fact that AC is not done on UE3 - let's not forget that whole barrier of entry in the multiplatform game world. It's a proprietary engine done by Ubisoft Montreal.

If you're on the fence wondering which version will get you more cents worth for your pennies, then perhaps its worth waiting for more information, but if you only have one option, then the quality of the PS3 version vs the 360 version should have zero factor in anyone's decision on whether or not to actually get this game or not.

Uncharted has delivered the goods via the demo, Assassin's creed was a mess last time it was demoed.

The answer is simple right now but I still say that both are going to be worth the dollar of gaming but if I had to go with one it's Uncharted.

If I was interested in madden I would have refused to buy it because of 30fps and not 60.

Choosing to not get something if you can't have the good version is reasonable. I am sure there are a lot of people that wouldn't buy the censored version of a movie or cd if that was their only choice.

You're more transparent than the space between your face and these words on your screen.

I agree with the others -- go with the game that you've actually had a chance to demo firsthand (assuming you really liked it) and wait-n-see the other game.

My vote goes to Assassin's Creed quite easily.

I loved the Uncharted demo, and will get it. But the videos of AC are so amazingly awesome. Its the perfect stealth/assassin game, and it appears to deliver in all aspects. I will put many many many more hours into AC than I will Uncharted.

I had to face the very same question. I'm going with AC. Renting uncharted should suffice. Play it religiously for 2 weeks and i'll be fine i think. There seems to be more game in AC, with all the sides missions and what not. I figure I'm getting more bang for my buck here. At least i hope.

Yeah, I don't know about that. Assassin's Creed has some pretty spectacular looking vistas but I don't think it compares very well next to Uncharted graphically. Uncharted is really something to see. It didn't blow me away right from the start but after playing the demo several times I started to notice all the small details and it began to sink in just how amazing it all is. Very, very pretty title. It'll more than likely be the most impressive looking game outside of Crysis released this year.

That being said, if I really had to choose between the two, I'd probably go with Assassin's Creed just because the concept sound much more interesting.....and Crackdown + Thief is instant win in my book.

personally I would go with Uncharted, since Im a fan of ND's games, and have never had much interest in Ubi's outside B & G....Having said that, I have AC preordered and very very hyped for it....personally I can't see how you could not get both...do it...absolutely

Graphically, AC has a huge playing field, a larger scope...I think Uncharted shades it in graphics, apparently the demo level is the least impressive as well...but AC looks incredible and is completely interactive...Uncharted has the better animation though, no doubt...but AC also has excellent animation.....I agree with what the above poster said about noticing the really impressive details about uncharted the more you play it....especially the waterfalls just look fantastic....damn, good month for games eh? if you throw in ME as well, the............................
