PS3 Remote Play-Play PS3 Games on PSP! (Unfortunately, the first one is LAIR)

This is most likely a glitch, and Sony hasn't officially paved the road for these kinds of accesses.

I think this was mentioned on InnerBit actually that it was a new feature added 'across the board' (for developers to use as they please) with the 1.8 Dev environment (I'm guessing Sony did a test run with F1).

If FFXIII had this feature........God the possibilities, and yea I don't remember who said it but ps1/ps2 game support would be made of win.

I haven't had a hand held since the original Gameboy, but this would be worth it to me even if it only streamed the video. Now that the new one has a tv out I can use it for by bed room television without having to move the ps3.

I got back and my fucking PS3 was off! WTF?!?!!

Has anyone (successfully) tried this from an external internet connection yet?

I have. I was playing from my laundry room wirelessly :)

I had an idea like this, but instead a monthly service where people can play gorgeous PC games on any PC they choose.

ANYWAYS. This really, really makes me want to buy Lair.

so is Lair better on the PSP than the PS3?

yeah, I think it is..........I mean I know it shouldn't be, but I actually like the stick control, and the fact that those visuals are coming out of the PSP add a lot to it :) They add a psp control patch, and it could be my top PSP game :lol

In a word. AMAZING. But future titles really should implement an alt PSP contrl scheme.

What sort of internet connection do you have? (Upload speed.) And what bitrate/quality did you set your PSP to? It sounds awesome. :D

I got into a fight with a dragon and couldn't figure out how to hit the other dragon once i had line him up...

Yeah I only played the first level, but I'd imagine stuff like the coral snake will be impossible without sixaxis.

lemme get this straight. The PS3 sends video to the PSP and you are playing the game on the PSP?

Yes, I think it's streaming from your PS3

wow that is really cool.....But what's the distance amount? If you can't leave your house than I fail to see the point. But if you can....very nice!

How do I check that?

And I'm guessing the PSP settings are on defaults because I don't remember changing them.

Just tested it via an external internet connection.

IT FUCKING WORKS.

I'm not going to tell you how I gained wireless internet access, but I'll just say that it wasn't mine and it wasn't Starbucks (theirs wouldn't assign me an IP for whatever reason). :lol

It was considerably laggy, but everything was laggy including the XMB. I assume the connection in which I used had an awful upload speed as at my work (which is only 256k), works much more smoothly. With a decent upload speed of 256k or greater, this could definitely be playable.

No pics of course, given the situation.

Just tried it in my on my home network. Holy crap that it works as well it does even in a WLAN.

This can't just be a glitch because they've got to reserve some memory for the remote play functionality to work.

Wow... I never thought that I'd see this actually happen and work, and thought Sony was just talking out their ass... unbelievable... If that sixaxis --> PSP thing works, wow, just wow... By far an away, the PS3 is even a far more huge leap from last gen to now...

It's sad how powerful and how many awesome features the PS3 has, and how no one wants to buy one.

It's like we got the bad ending. :[

What's sad is that Sony isn't shouting from the mountain tops that they HAVE this functionality. Along with Promoting Blu Ray, Game Sharing, Etc.....

Is it good enough for internet? Will it okay for high quality bitrate?

Vagrant Story is my top PSP game.

Can Sony now try and work on allowing people to install PS1/PS2 games to their PS3 hard drives?

NOW THAT would be freaking amazing...and then they could include the PSP remote play and you'd have access to PS1/PS2 games on your PSP.

That would be unreal.

Hey guys, can we not let this become a speedtest.net post unless you have Lair Remote Play impressions? Thanks guys. There's a thread somewhere in OT about it where you can post your speedtest.net speeds, you'll have to do a search for it.

I think your speed is partly responsible for your good experience, not to detract from it of course, that's great! :)

I would love some more comments about the PSP playablity of course and speeds of people who played it *via internet* (not over your wlan). :)
