Your 3DTV must be very poor. On my LG 55LF6529 (passive 3D, 1080p) the picture still is sharper and way more comfortable because of less weight on my head. The 3D effect is equally good.experience puts my 3Dtv to shame.
Not boost related, but just watched a movie in 3D via PSVR... game changer, experience puts my 3Dtv to shame.
Also, my UK ps4 is happily playing Japanese DVD's and Blu-rays.. what?
What type 3D are sonys psvr headsets displaying? Can't imagine a headset being worst then passive 3d on a TVYour 3DTV must be very poor. On my LG 55LF6529 (passive 3D, 1080p) the picture still is sharper and way more comfortable because of less weight on my head. The 3D effect is equally good.

Japan DVD's are Region 2, same as PAL.
Blu-Ray are different, maybe you tried a region free Blu-Ray?.

Possibly, my old ps4-novice was a US import. Most blu-rays are region free anyway and Japanese DVD's are region 2 just like UK, so perfectly normal.
True 3D as in each eye gets its own image without using any filters. What type 3D are sonys psvr headsets displaying?
It's basically simple math. The virtual display only fills part of the view, and each eye gets at best only half of 960 * 1080. But, I'd estimate the movie image fills only two thirds of that, maybe less. Can't imagine a headset being worst then passive 3d on a TV

PlayStation 4 owners who were able to test the beta firmware might be heartbroken after the final for firmware 4.50 had the Boost Mode removed. This feature already received a nickname "Beast Mode" and is supposedly the single most-anticipated feature that has direct impact over gaming performance. PlayStation 4 firmware 4.50 originally included the Boost Mode in beta to enhance framerate.

Ignore that post, they have no idea what they're talking about. It's on a game by game basis and some are boosted better than others. I tested resident evil revelations and there is a certain part on ps4 where it drops down to 30fps throughout an area pretty much but on beast mode it holds a solid 60 without a hitch.

Even if it was withheld I'd still say that article was trash journalism.I can't believe some people are so beholden to their platform of choice that they want to sabotage the competition by writing fake news. What a tragically sad waste of time.

is this just overclocking?
edit - also y cant they do this with the ps4 amateur?
I have yet to try out The Last of Us with this new mode.
Does it keep the frame rate at a stable 60?
Games like TLOU already have Pro patch and won't be affected by this.I have yet to try out The Last of Us with this new mode.

No joke posts please.
It's not overclocking, it's allowing PS4 games without a Pro patch to use 100% of the new hardware capacity rather than running in a "PS4 mode".

So is there a list by now? The thread is growing enormous and the OP stopped updating.
Should we start a Google Drive spreadsheet for everyone to contribute?
