PS4 firmware 4.50 add Boost Mode for PS4 Pro.

Anything about the Resident Evil games on PS4? For example first Resident Evil Remastered HD.
What about The Tomorrow Children? I thought this game would get a PS4 PRO patch from the devs themselevs. This game used the PS4 hardware very well and could have benfited from PS4 PRO too.

Per my description, "The game with boost mode off is definitely improved over how it ran at launch, but there are still stutters and frame drops present. However, the game now runs at a seemingly tight 30fps with the extra juice available with PS4 Pro and boost mode."

So basically,just leave Boost mode on and forget about it lol...
 
Also very pleased with the results of boost mode - hardly breaks anything, helps some games, a lot in a few cases. They just have been very cautious to avoid outraged clickbait articles at Pro launch that would surely have surfaced if just one game was broken with an optional boost mode at start.

This is the desired (and wrong) reaction: EVERYONE CLICK ON THE BULLSHIT RIGHT NOW! ;)

With a little bit of thinking, you can skip clicking it altogether. The beta is running for 3 days now, over the weekend. There can't possibly have happened any decission making process and official statement for the final firmware version. It's waaaay too early.
 
I haven't played the Nathan Drake Collection yet. Was there anything in the games that needed the Pro power or was it pretty rock solid as it was? If it wasn't, has anyone tried it yet?

Aye - I have an LG E6 and the 3d is way way better on that than on VR. Great option for people who dont have a 3D TV though...

There were some parts in 2 and a few more spots in 3 that didn't lock to 60.
 
Does anyone know an estimated release date for this update? I already have my external drive waiting. :)
My Xbox One doesn't get as much use anymore, so i'm moving my 5 TB external over to the Pro.

It's usually 4-6 weeks from start of beta.

No he was just plain right and it isn't the first time he's did this. Qnos has a knack for seeing the current and upcoming hardware and using his common sense to spell some things out.
 
Pardon me if I've missed this, but has anyone tried this with any rhythm games? Rock Band 4, Guitar Hero Live, Loud on Planet X etc. Hopefully they're one of the genres where you can leave it on and it actually does nothing at all except maybe speed up loading times.

I believe RE Remastered AND Zero run flawlessly on base PS4 and are capped at 30fps as it was designed to be.

I've been playing Rock Band 4 today and there is a tiny difference, maybe ever so slightly smoother but that game is so poorly coded anyway that much as I love it, that could just be placebo.
 
So has Colin Mortiarty had anything to say about the PS4 Pro Boost Mode yet? Wonders if he still thinks the PS4 Pro was a waste.

Apparantly it crashes and runs worse, idk.

Almost can't believe it. What kind of trash game* would run worse with boost mode? I'm still convinced games don't just break with stuff like this and here comes little Soma and proves me wrong? Cmon breh. I won't have it. It must be a mistake and the game just runs like dogshit on PS4 anyway. Please.
It would be funny if this actually caused the devs to patch the game for Pro lol. Have the games break with an optional feature, causing huge outrage among gamers to prompt devs to patch it anyway.

Why would he? It's not an officially advertised feature. I have a Pro on a 1080 Monitor and love it but your position is kind of childish. Be better don't let you ignorance speak for you. The PS4 Pro has its primary feature in its name "Pro" it's not PS4 boost. No defending Colin but your post doesn't make it any better. Come on it's a stretch but what if Sony holds it off for one more update to really iron out it out than how long do we wait for Colin to respond lol.

Damn Gaf? Real talk ya'll buggin on this boost mode it's nice and all but let's hope devs implement features for optimization. Burner accounts to take a hit? Ya'll are fiends.
 
I'm not that interested in participating in betas in general, but I have The Evil Within and Witcher 3 waiting for it! Hope my signup isn't forgotten!

Colin literally said on numerous occasions that it was a bad move for Sony to make the PS4 Pro AND that it didn't serve any purpose. Not only was he proven wrong with the Q3 Sony financial numbers, but now his opinion looks even worse with this Beta.

Regardless if it is officially released this month or in April, we know the Boost Mode it's coming. And the PS4 Pro has clearly made sense now. As the number one PlayStation podcast it'll be nice to at least see or hear him be honest and just admit that he was wrong on this one.

I don't think they will. the differences aren't night/day or mind blowing for normal people (i.e. not gaf members) and I think Sony would still rather guarantee compatibility for people

I don't think Microsoft will advertise boosts for old non-patched games much either, they'll focus on new stuff taking advantage of the hardware specifically.

These old game "boosts" are really only relevant for hardcore folks that notice these things

RE6 seemed to be running well above 60fps or it had some weird framepacing.

I never played RE6 without boost so I don't know if that's normal or not.

The world MIGHT end tomorrow...If it does, I didn't predict it lol...I just made a random statement that COULD happen with the qualifier of "might" to cover my ass if it doesn't happen

What about the dual GPU in the Pro? Or Scorpio being a 6tf fp16 GPU and less powerful than the pro? Or his uprendering nonsense? We don't acknowledge all the ridiculous Mr.X level drivel he spouts on a consistent basis?
