PS4 firmware 4.50 add Boost Mode for PS4 Pro.

Assassin's Creed Unity is on sale for $12 on PSN.

Tempted to get it for Boost Mode. Though I hear the game isn't good.

For me, Unity is, by far, the best game in the series.
I really enjoy it on PS4 Amateur. With Beast mode game is (probably, i haven't tested it yet) glorious.

I find Unity really forgettable and I've played them all but a lot of the negativity around the game was because of technical issues and how poorly it ran at release. That's mostly been rectified now. $12 is a good price if you like the gameplay loop.

Obsessive would imply I seek him out, which if you actually bothered to look you would find a very insignificant number of my posts are in anyway related to him...

But hey, don't let facts get in the way!

Edit: I certainly don't have any obsession with being right, I get things wrong all the time, that's how you learn..

Man it REALLY looks like an obsession. Do some self research about it

They're both members of the same forum with similar interests, and hence they read the sane threads. Hence it makes sense that if someone keeps posting the same nonsense, the same or similar group of people will respond to it. I think some need to get over their persecution complex.

The stealth is super clunky (Syndicate, while still clunky, made some significant improvements that will be missed) but Unity has the best traversal by far. Syndicate for some idiotic reason removed the ability to initiate a jump whenever you want. You're forced to auto-jump at edges. Unity, you can jump whenever and because of it, have far more control when running rooftops, etc.

Imo combat is better in Unity. There aren't any stagecoaches which is a plus. Running animation, and animation in general, are better in Syndicate though. Unity protagonist is kinda boring.

Edit: oops quoted wrong post.

To play Unity with BOOST/BEAST Mode you need to not do the most recent update right? Since they patched in Pro support for the HUD I think...

That's Syndicate, and it's worth adding its Pro patch was fixed and is quite good now, especially if you have a 1080p display as it now runs higher than native res.

Hmm.... debating Unity at $11 on PSN flash sale if only as a test of Pro Boost mode since I've read that title benefits the most and runs at a locked 30fps in Boost mode. What to do? Hmm

Did you read his post regarding this Q guy?? The guy that nailed this boost feature months ago? i was shocked at the saltyness and pettyness...if that's not an obsession I don't know what it is

Wait, so for 90 pages no one else bothered to test SOMA and everyone here relied on a single post claiming it crashes? :D
No, not at all. Even the original poster who saw it crash came back and said he got it to run after that, but performance was very messed up. And at least one other poster also said their framerate was all over the place with Boost mode. Someone else said they've had the same kind of issues prior to Boost mode.

If you look back, you'll find that these variable impressions are clearly communicated in the summaries I posted, and by other members. This includes the possibility that Soma's problems might be unrelated to Boost mode.

As it turns out, you're the one making unsupported sweeping generalizations.

I can confirm from first hand experience that Project CARS is significantly better in beast mode. It looks to be a solid v-synched 60 lock in dry weather, even with 40-odd cars on track.

Go mental and run similar numbers in a thunderstorm at night and performance naturally dips, but By Jehovah it's bloody lovely nevertheless. Much, much better than on OG PS4.

I'll finally be able to play full wet races now without being distracted by the performance.

Huzzah!

I need to bite the bullet and pick this up. I've been perpetually waiting and ultimately missing sales for it.

It's horrible. Curious if boost mode could help because controls were incredibly laggy on ps4. Maybe the game could be a bit more fun with a proper responsiveness. But I don't rise my hope too much.
The Evil Within indeed could have a transformative experience. Such a beautiful game but fps was a plague in different spot. If boost mode it's effective, I can't wait to finally finish it. But I'm moderately optimistic. I want to see a proper full fps analysis from DF before to lose my mind. Hope they can handle this mode as soon as possible.

man i wish witcher 3 would release the expansion dlc as separate from the main game...especially since the stupid decision to make saves from the original release not working with the GOTY edition.

Once the awe factor wears off you'll come to realise very soon it doesn't really holds it's own, from poor mission design to it's uninspired plain characters.

unity isn't near as bad as people made it sound. played the thing at launch and apart from technical issues...if you like assassins creed and weren't burnt out on the yearly releases i can't fathom how you could have hated that game with so much passion.

Syndicate is better from a gameplay perspective though as someone mentioned that the stealth (albeit the story didn't do much for me). The story of unity was actually more interesting to me.

Don't know if this is the right place to ask this but is anybody else in 4.50 having issues with the Sony Gold Wireless headset?

Great! I needed a reason to get back into this game...I really enjoy career mode quite a bit...Can't wait for pCars2 and hopefully they flesh out that career mode some more

You should! It's a great game! You just need to approach it from a motorsports perspective, and appreciate it for what it is...in terms of so Glen player content...It's NOT a car collecting journey like Gran Turismo or Forza..It's attempting to simulate being the driver for a race team...

I don't mess with online in racing games, so I can't really comment about that aspect

I don't need to do any research, I know what I post about thanks

AC Unity isn't great, Syndicate is slightly better but still not that great, waiting for AC 2017 they spent some time working on and rumoured to be set in Egypt. Closest game we'll get to a next gen Prince of Persia

Sold! That mechanic has been overlooked in GT and something I've been wanting for years.

Unity is ok, especially for that price but it's not the best game in the series. The graphics are great and the massive crowds are really impressive.

The problem for me was the story wasn't very long, compared to some of the other AC games and it felt like it ended just as it got going, which was pretty disappointing.

The multiplayer had potential, providing you could play with people who want to play properly / stealthy and not just run in and start a massive brawl, relying on other people is not always fun.

Also some things are locked behind microtransactions and of course the game can be pretty buggy, although it's better than it was when it first launched.

Just bear in mind that it's designed to be used with a racing wheel. The gamepad controls are not so good :(

ahh yes...i had a wheel before the game, so ive only played a few laps with a controller and i have no experience with a controller as they continued to patch things...

but quite a few people have been very vocal about how bad controller support is lol

Finally took the Beast Mode opportunity to start Witcher 3. Frame-rate is ROCK solid 30fps over the 6 hours I've played now. The only time I've ever seen even a hint of a frame drop is in some of the cut scenes (which might just be a loading-in-the-background stutter).

It really is a joy, and it makes me wonder if 60fps were the target... if it could be achieved here...

So, are there any other games that run worse or is it just SOMA, Tembo, Slender, and Grow Home?

In Killzone Shadowfall, the 30fps lock option doesn't work while boost mode is enabled. So strange. I wonder how that 30fps lock is coded. Something tells me they're using some other trick to get the 30fps output other than a true 30fps cap.

Don't do it! Unity is a great game.
With all respect I bought it just listening post like this and I fully regret to got the game at full price. I imagine at the price in the previous post we can give a try but don't deserve a single penny for its gameplay value.
