PS4 grabs 95% of Consumer Votes after Amazon shuts poll down early

Imagine ps4 games still being full price while the Xbox One games are $45. That would be a huge game hanger.

I'm pretty sure people have already announced games will be $60 on the 'bone.

I don't really need a huge game hanger anyway, my current one is big enough.

I would really like to see what the break down would be but apparently I can't post polls.
For polls you need to contact a moderator or they need to do it themselves.

With the amount of threads about next-gen consoles being closed after 50 posts, I think it's a good idea to ask for permission first anyway. ;-)

Bloody hell. When more people vote for a Wii U as the best, above the Xbox One, you just know how much MS screwed the pooch.

Nintendo showed Smash, a new Mario and a new Donkey Kong. Microsoft showed how Smartglass integrated with a Rome of War with far too many QTEs.

They didn't bring the games. Even the FGC was unhappy with MS, and they got a modern incarnation of KI.

I think the key thing to remember is that the people who voted in this poll were the ones who felt the strongest about this issue. It is Amazon and i don't think thats an accurate look at the mass market. I do think the PS4 is poised to do better in the market but I think that the Xbox One will still have a moderate amount of success. I think that the key to the Xbox One's success is if it becomes a little bit like Steam with the huge discounts. Imagine ps4 games still being full price while the Xbox One games are $45. That would be a huge game hanger.

i don't think that will happen. just look at the direct download games on xbox360. have there been any discounts? why would they change this for next gen? they clearly weren't willing to take a loss on the hardware price certainly putting it out of reach for some of their consumers.

microsoft don't care.

we can only work with the data provided. in this case 32 people are in game, 19 of which playing MW2 - so we can conclude 60% (19/32) of gamers are full of shit

bearing in mind that media/internet manipulation is significantly higher in this case, I would estimate 90% of (console) gamers are full of shit post-e3, and if we remove those clowns from the sample then XBO and PS4 are much closer in votes

people don't like change, it's natural to have some initial resistance, but eventually consumers will realise that always online is the way forward

you're right that price is a deterrent, but it's up to MS marketing to justify it to consumers, they certainly have the tech to make a case for the price they are charging, but it's still steep. I'd like to see MS offer subsidies through third parties such as ISPs or TV service providers.

everyone in game is bumped to the front, not just mw2 players, so surely we would be seeing a larger mix of games

could be clearer but it's clear enough

the other 800 probably have the game too but I'm guessing they were sleeping at the time this pic was taken

internet hype of PS4 is through the roof too, and price isn't a factor since you don't have to pledge money towards a console in order to vote

I'll provide you that when you show me data of how many of these voters have preordered

Wow. You sound all kinds of smart!

The hell?

MS brought the games. More than Sony and Nintendo.

It's just that the price and drm shit brought it down to negativity.

look at the bright side for us who had friends' lists spli between two consoles.

the PS4 will unite 90% of them under one roof, under one friends lists :)

spoiler: gamers are shallow

will be interesting to see how this data translates into sales, but I really doubt it means anything
Initial sales mean practically nothing when you take scalpers into account. Look at the wii u as an example this. I think they even took a loss in some cases trying to get rid of their undesired goods.

Whoa when did he say that? That would be a huge shocker at next year's e3 if he is right. Because journalist and Microsoft have been talking about Titanfall being the biggest exclusive ever for any console in history.

Honestly I don't think many people gave/give a shit about titanfalls exclusivity

I know this has been quoted to death, but I wanted to mention this: A gaffer once said this picture was taken during a 4chan raid on the steam group, so I would take it with a grain of salt.

By my estimations, 100% of your post is full of shit too, lol.

I can pull numbers out of my ass like you did if you'd like.

I'm going to keep making this observation.

Microsoft made a console for where they honestly believe the gaming market is going to be in a few years, but forgot to see what the gaming market of today is going to feel about it.

It's their New Coke, where Coke polled people blindly to see if they preferred the taste of New Coke to regular Coke (which they did) but forgot to ask them how they'd feel about New Coke replacing regular Coke.

which they were very strongly against. all because Pepsi looked like it was threatening to overtake them in sales. which it never did.

They planned for the future, but forgot to check with the customers of today if those were good plans.

The thing about New Coke is that Coca-Cola completely backpedaled on it by bringing back Coca-Cola Classic, and limiting New Coke and later Coke II to certain areas until it was discontinued in 1998. Heck, the last vestiges of the New Coke disaster, the "Classic" on the label of original formula Coca-Cola, only left in 2009. For all the problems New Coke had, Coca-Cola was able to recover from it fast enough that people still think the whole New Coke debacle was planned.

However, the solution this suggests is that Microsoft's best bet to recover is to instead release a variant Xbox One console at $399 with no online DRM or Kinect and call it Xbox Classic, while quietly canceling the Xbox One.

It's obviously not going to be so lopsided, but even without all the negative publicity the PS4 is going to outsell Xbox One handily in the early going. Lower price + MS is evidently having supply issues.

See as how I work for Coke Cola company I like you example. Die xboxone DIE!!

I always wondered what would happen to my PS3 Fightsticks. This is where dual modders come in.

I do want to see what the new Fightsticks will have if they have some sort of touchscreen near the top or something.

but fo real, A stick with my 8 button layout is all I need xD

unfortunately it's working in MS' favor. People are associating Titanfall with the Xbone and it will sell consoles. then, when these consumers see the game on PS4 a year later it'll be too late, they bought a console due to MS' shady tactics.

What's the point of even posting that?

It quite eloquently shows that of pc gamers that are very into Call of Duty, only slightly more than half played modern warfare 2.

The people on that boycott list are all fans, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered joining.
Under normal circumstances that list would be all COD.

(for the record; I know very well the background of that picture and what it really is meant to signal.)

Something like Titanfall or other shooters releasing a year later, the dev and pub have to assume they're not going to do so hot. They passed the initial hype point by a long-wide margin. 1-2 month later sure, but a year later there's going to be bigger and better games out there most likely. Games that will also look significantly better as well.

Man, I hope this means Microsoft will change their policies. I'm not getting one until they do. Can't believe this is happening.

This poll would be much more interesting if I couldn't just look at the top sellers on Amazon and see that the PS4 and Xbone are #1 and #2 respectively on the top sellers list.

Polls are fun forum fodder. Sales actually matter.

Actually PS4 is #1, #3, #5, #6, and #8

Is that PS3 back compat true/confirmed?!?

so AWESOME

It isnt 100% confirmed but is heavily implied as the future tie to gaikai. Obviously the sun doesn't care whether or not they are 100% spot on as they are not selling ps4's. At launch i doubt this will be a feature but in time it is likely.

He's just another one of those idiots who thinks the image is indicative of anything. It's good shock value for anyone who doesn't really understand the content.

I'm pretty sure it was outright said in the E3 conference that they would begin a service for PS3 streaming.

What this mostly says there is still a shit that can happen between now in November:

MS marketing budget
MS making adjustments to policies, emphasizes the positives, why it is an advantage to consumers
MS offering subscription model, i.e. pay between 199 and 299 in store.

Which does nothing to offset their DRM policies.
