Never realized people were having constant issues with this......I always thought everyone was only getting the once-per-session blackout that I always get. Wow, that sucks. At least now I understand why people complain about it as much as they do.

Just happened to me this morning! Had the pro since release, never happened. I was browsing my trophy list and i got blinks 3 times. I got an LG so no ots not Samsung only. I assume it could be the lates update?

And no its not the hdmi cable...i had the monster cables since day one, this never happened before.

I've tried a lot of so-called solutions to this problem, none have worked. I have a Samsung MU6300 and no matter what, every time I turn on the TV and PS4 I will get exactly one temporary black screen somewhere between 1 and 10 minutes after power on. EVERY TIME. It only happens once, then I can play all day long without it doing it again......until I power off and power on again. Not sure what's up with that or why it does it, but I've learned to just deal with it since it only does it once.

For the record, I have tried various different HDMI cables......makes no difference to the issue.

By any chance are you playing hdr games or using psvr? As both of those will cause a blank out when hdr initially comes on or the headset turns on. That's actually normally

I get that a few seconds to a minute after starting a HDR Game. Once it blacked out and comes back shortly after its done and wont return until i start another game.

That's normal. That's just hdr turning on.

Yeah it's a bandwidth issue I think. Mine does it when using PC at full fat RGB 4:4:4. Haven't seen it do it on the X1X but I don't use it much.

It's a Samsung issue. My LG I had before my new Samsung never had this issue

Next time just get Sony Bravia TV so you won't have any incompatibility issues with ps4pro

I get this with XE9005 4K HDR

edit: Just changed to a third party high end HDMI and ater 30 mins play time I have 0 issues.
People with 4K TVs.... CHANGE YOUR CABLES!

I'm blind in one eye, so no PSVR for me, unfortunately. The screen blackout happens to me once per session regardless of it being SDR or HDR. It's always within the first 15 minutes of powering on the TV and PS4 that it does it just the one time, but it does do it EVERY time. I assume it is something like the TV adjusting....whatever.....to match the PS4 output, but I don't know.

I get the same sort of blackout when I switch between SDR and HDR within a game, or when I first boot a game that runs in HDR, but at least that blackout makes sense as the TV is switching modes.

But for people where it is happening multiple times per session, that is terrible. I really wish we had a definitive reason for why it's happening at all, whether it be once or multiple times, it's freaking annoying when you're in the middle of the action and it does that.

I'm using a 10 dollar "premium" GE HDMI cable from walmart myself and it works better than the Sony one LMAO.
