PS4 Remote Play - Forcing play over internet

Is this possible? Ps4 is in the basement, and I want to play two floors up. Connecting via wifi and playing over the internet is seamless, but half the time it connects when it "searches nearby" meaning it bypasses my wifi.

This results in a crappy connection because I'm so far away from the console. I tried disabling the option to direct connect, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Any ideas, GAF?

Disabling direct connect means the data is traveling through your router. It will still say searching nearby when it finds your ps4 over your home network.

Try switching wifi channels if there's interference nearby.

You could disable the direct connection search when you go to the remote play settings on the ps4. I forget what it's exactly called, I'll have to check when I'm back at home

This appears to be correct. Thanks

Mine does not work.

I have my PS4 wired connected to my Fritz.Box. It uses UpnP. Conncetion speed is 50 down and 10 up.

My Vita is connected to another Wifinetwork. 100 down 5 up. It is listed as Exposed host. Somehow my Vita can't find the PS4

Can anybody help ?
