PS4 reselling dilemmas, strategies, and more...

I still have a sealed green box, but I want a Day One. Anybody here have one they want to sell? Willing to pay a little extra so I can just return the green box(or sell to someone at cost who wants it).

My friend was able to resell his PS4, but barely made a profit.

I know several people in retail. One of them is a GM for Best Buy, another is just a store manager at Best Buy. Also know a manager at a local Wal Mart.

According to all of them, Sony has been radio-silent as far as if they will get more in but have been told to "not expect shipments" before Christmas. As in, you will likely get some here and there, but don't be expecting them frequently.

The manager I know at Wal Mart told me that if you don't feel like camping out in their electronics section, you will just have to get lucky and be there at the right time because they aren't getting many shipments before Christmas either.

Just an FYI for those looking for a PS4 console / trying to resell.

So I sold a PS4 on eBay last week and now the buyer opened a case on me saying that the product was defective.

Why open a case? Why not just contact me first?

Anyways, they want a refund and to send the product back to me. I told them to contact Sony with regards to their "defective" console. They're now saying that they can't contact Sony because they didn't buy it from a retailer, I did. Is this true?

What are my options fellow GAFers?

Next, time don't be a scalper.

Not gonna say "you shouldn't have scalped." My shaming is to say "don't sell on ebay, it's unsafe."

but the buyer is right, they need a receipt and they also probably fucked up and told sony they bought it secondhand. Had it happen with a used PS3

Geee, these stories about Ebay and Open Cases scared me. I thought of auctioning them on Ebay before the launch, but I sold them off to Neogaf members and locals.

When I sent my DOA PS4 to Sony, I didn't send a receipt. The guy told me I needed to, I said there wasn't one 'cause I bought it on Amazon, he said it'd be fine without. I got my fixed system back no problem. There's obviously no way any systems are out of warranty yet, so they don't really care.

The only time you'd need a receipt is if your console is out of warranty and you're disputing it based on purchase date..

Sold my second PS4 on Ebay for $600 + $40 shipping.

Didn't get a single call off Craigslist with it listed at $525 for a week.

Sold my one for 580 on Craigslist still have another. How much after shipping and PayPal and eBay fees did you end up making on that sale?

Anyone waiting till Monday to really see Ebay prices?

Already looked on the UK eBay and there are some going for £200 over the RRP.

I guess I could have scalped the pre-order I cancelled, but it's just not in my nature, hopefully that PS4 pre-order I cancelled has found a good home whilst I wait for a few more games.

Yep. That's been my plan all along. I've got the PS4 sitting in the corner of my room collecting legit dust. I've been tempted a few times but nah.

Anyway, if some of you go out shopping today do you mind checking the stock of some stores if it's not out of your way? Then report back here. I'll probably go to the mall later and will check the Gamestop inside.
