XMB is annoying to navigate because of its insane number of pointless options you have to go through to find what you're looking for. If you could customize what you wanted on the UI, it would have been fine.
Finding anything left of the Games section is a fucking nightmare. With every iteration of the 360's UI, and the Wii's, I could find everything instantaneously. But XMB is pretty damn awful in that regard.

Doesn't really go through the menus but it looks snappy. Still a devkit build.

Is the store going to be a separate "App" you have to load and wait for again? If so, I'm going to be pissed...

Pictures are in Pictures. Local Video and DVD and Blu-Ray are in Video. Music is in Music. TV Apps are in TV Apps. Games are in Games. The only place it starts getting mixy is when you travel into Internet and PSN. But those make sense too. I literally don't get why anyone who can observe and comprehend basic icons and words has trouble with the XMB. Better yet, none of it is hidden behind a button, all the content is on the columns. It's utterly fantastic.
Will there be in the future?
XMB was a piece of shit.
This doesn't look great, but it's a step in the right direction. It's simple and not incredibly annoying to navigate like the XMB garbage was.
scrolling text is annoying, the continuous prompt to log in isn't to my liking either otherwise looks ok.
There are three levels:
TOP: Looks like PS3 XMB letting you go into Friends, Profile, Settings etc
MIDDLE: The icons with all the different games on, and What's New, Library, Store
BOTTOM: When you select a game to view info etc
You can easily jump between them via button presses. It is light, but it's quick, lag free in-between game and menu and runs at 60fps. It also has relaxing music![]()
Going off what they've posted in the FAQ, screenshot sharing only connects to Facebook and Twitter so I'm assuming the images will be hosted on FB/Twitter servers and will get a generic image URL from those websites.Have they said anything regarding the URLs generated by screenshots?
Where can I share my game content using Share?
PS4 players can share game video on Facebook, game screenshots via Facebook and Twitter, and gameplay livestreams via Ustream and Twitch starting on November 15th in North America.

We'll probably get access to their online photo/video cloud service (5GB free), PlayMemories Online, in a post launch update. I'm hoping Picasa/Google support gets patched in like it did with the PS3.Ewww really? FB and twitter? Lame. Was hoping Sony would give all PS+ subscribers server space to store a limited amount of videos/pics that could easily be accessed by friends and non-friends alike. Perhaps in the future. I also hope they let us take high rez screenshots that can be used as UI backgrounds.
Considering his GAF username is his actual name, that may be difficult to get away with.Kenny, you're the hero GAF needs....
Take a video tour of the UI for us. Blacking/Fuzzing out your and your company info and stuff of course.

Is that it? Yeah, we're gonna need some themes and wallpaper options for this.

Sort of off-topic, but I'm so absolutely disappointed they won't be allowing USB sticks to work on PS4's. Using my PS3 to play movies off my USB stick is one of its #1 features I use it for... this is such a devastating blow. I hope they change it in the future.

On another note, while looking up the amount of storage they hand out for PMO I spotted the same Library icon so maybe it will be used for photos/videos.

I read that as sharing outside of the Playstation eco system. Guess it could happen but it would be strange for Sony not to have invested in a way of saving and storing content produced on their systems.
At this point the only thing PS4 related that will truly sour launch for me is a launch firmware without a library view for games. I hate the current PS3 Store cause it wastes so much space with the tiles and I've hated the PS4 home tile bar since before the console was revealed.Lol, no. Please, they can't do this to me. They better have a digital library of some sort.
Read the big thread it seems something they are looking at patching in later.

If I worked at Sony still I'd be pushing the crap out of them for SOMEONE to do a full tour of the OS but sadly that's not the case. I think if I did that at work myself I would be in a shit storm from where I work now and Sony
Has anyone asked Holly at Access about an OS tour? Those guys seem pretty decent and would at least give an indication of when it might happen!
Honestly, if the demo UI is what the library looks like, I would be happy. I don't think that's going to be the case, though since they would have to make a UI that shows off the information that we get on the main UI. Ugh, I just want to see it.From the little bit of UI media they've released it appears like even inside the PS eco system the experience is heavily dependent on third party networks.

I really wish they would just hurry the hell up with the UI walkthrough so we can get a clear outline of what the day 1 firmware will be able to do.

Anyone who looks at a screenshot of the home UI can figure it out that the single horizontal tile bar with huge cover art will become annoying once you start filling up the HDD. There's no excuse for them to miss such a simple basic view option such as a full screen library view at launch.
