He does it at 9:42, for anyone interested.
I don't think it's quite the same thing as quick resume. But again there is no need for PS5 to have it.
I need to say that I read a lot this reasoning here at Neogaf and I feel excluded because I want multi quick resume regardless loading times because I want to quit the games when I want it not depending of a save spot or checkpoint. For me is the key point of quick resume, like video streaming apps as Netflix.Just as I thought months ago, that PS5 doesnt need "multi game quick resume" as it is fast enough to load games without having to do tricks
And having more than 1-2 games in quick resume doesnt sound like really useful feature anyway, especially when you can load next gen titles so fast that it doesnt matter if it is 5s or 20s
Even PS4 were fast enough (except gta v) to play one game, someone comes online and we change to different game. Limiting factor is my speed to find the god damn disc hiding in wrong case anyway![]()
The ability to jump seamlessly between multiple games, resuming at the exact same point that you left off, is a very nice feature. If the PS5 doesn't have it there is no need to pretend that that the feature has no value.I don't think it's quite the same thing as quick resume. But again there is no need for PS5 to have it.

The PS5 is great. However it would be even better if it had quick resume as capable and flexible as the Series X.
I agree, that's what I've been saying. Quick resume is handy, but the cards put you into different parts of the game instantly.Like i been saying in the other thread, these cards are fantastic and offer so much more scope than just a quick resume.

Oh really? Did you see the loading times for BC games? Even if playing next gen, do you load in to the exact place you left off, with no need to save? No, you have to save... And you will see splash screens, and you will go to the title.
There is every need for the PS5 to have it if you want the same functionality, because you're not getting it out the box with the PS5.

It's not needed. Activity cards can skip you right to any level you want. PS5 also cold boots games as fast as Series X can switch between some games.
quick resume is if you want to continue where you left off. can i load into middle of the racing? i think not. can i load in the middle of the fight? no.
those cards are useful, but it is no match for quick resume. they should include quick resume for at least 2 games.
Did you not watch the video? There aren't splash screens or titles. It puts you right into the game where you left off.
yes, i done that. middle mission, race or whatever other scenario. for me personally, it is one of the best console feature to date. and with new generation i want at least to have 2 games in resume mode. Those cards could be created but realistically would you stop a game in the middle of a race or a fight?
I don't need to watch the video to know its not the same as XSX, and to see the posts claiming the PS5 doesn't need what the XSX has.
I quoted somebody else, not you, querying why they think the PS5 doesn't need it. Simple stuff.
As far as I can see, the PS5 does one game - ie the game currently running. The PS4 had that same functionality, did it not?

Well, it's not quick resume. It's loading into a save point. BUT, the cards do have more flexibility then just a pause/unpause; by allowing to quickly resume parts of a game. Completely different approaches to game accessibility.Apparently PS5 not only allows you to Quick resume between two games, you can even choose to Jump directly to gaming sections immediately skipping menues and other stuff!
Amazing

stop calling the cards quick resume, its not the same thing
Exactly. You play the game, in the middle of the race or a fighting scene. Need to go - switch and leave. When return - no need to start the race again or start from the nearest checkpoint if any.I need to say that I read a lot this reasoning here at Neogaf and I feel excluded because I want multi quick resume regardless loading times because I want to quit the games when I want it not depending of a save spot or checkpoint. You're right. I can imagine multiplayer games running events via these. Generating excitement and focusing user base. E,g recent Halloween specific game modes in Modrn Warefare.Like i been saying in the other thread, these cards are fantastic and offer so much more scope than just a quick resume.
Lets not argue semantics, lets call it "Next Gen Quick Resume"
The only feature though that QR can borrow from the cards - and correct me if I am wrong - is the ability to save multiple states for the same game. Would be nice to have [snaphot] of the game from various places. Can be of use. Maybe. It's not even only about that. It even works if you unplug the console! If you have a power outage or if you bring it to your friend. It's a game changer. Better than faster loading times because it basically eliminates loading times and saves so much time.
More likely Past Gen CheckpointLets not argue semantics, lets call it "Next Gen Quick Resume"
