Seeing those graphs showing their profits this gen and how they've handled pricing should be enough to enrage gamers. Console gaming is cooked. Steam is the future.
Sony will be fine, but their pipeline is bone dry right now. It would take some real bangers to get me to buy a PS6 and even then I'd wait for the Pro model and only if they had at least 5 exclusives on the level of what we saw from Naughty Dog in the PS3 era.

Anyway, PC isn't immune from crashing numbers due to hardware costs..
It's definitely an industry wide problem and even Nintendo themselves are predicting they will sell 3 million less consoles this financial year, no one is immune. We all need to hope prices come down or our entire hobby is screwed for a long time.

Last quarter was the worst performing quarter for PS5 hardware sales since release. It's dropping off a cliff. In comparison with PS4 in the same quarter of its lifespan, PS4 sold over a million more units.
PS5 was already trailing PS4 all gen, but last quarter has created an even bigger divergence on the chart. I doubt that PS5 touches PS4 cumulative numbers this gen unless the release of the PS6 is delayed.

One can aurgue PC is a way worse place, Valve can't even pinpoint Machine's release window due to rising costs of everything. And Machine is not even on par with base PS5 HW-wise.

The one benefit pc hardware has is that individual components can be sourced. What we are seeing is that a lot of customers are upgrading computers from a couple of years ago or more with modern graphics.
This doesn't help the mobo manufacturers but actual customers aren't in as bad a shape as consoles. If you have a 5800x3d with ddr4 memory you can go out and buy a 9070 XT etc and have a modern experience.
So the pc conversation is a little more complicated than a fixed hardware console.

Yeah. I grabbed one so we could play online coop in the same house. Really surprised that the impending price hike didn't bring in any buyers. Nintendo has a chance to do this too, but with a console that is new and should be on the uptick.
People calling for no PS6 next year are crazy. Sony needs something to create some excitement and they are too slow at publishing to do it with games.

It's a drop compared to the previous years Q4 but he fails to specify that in the tweet.
He's not lying but he's as always being very disingenuous with his information. Just like his "yes, the Xbox Series S CPU is faster than the PS5" claims he's not looking at the real problems and the bigger picture. He claims it's due to recent price rises but that did not take affect in this quarter he's looking at. The real problem is that consumers are struggling and spending on essential goods only.

It will absolutely alarm them that even though there is an expected dip after price hikes that they are down on sales so significantly.
The measure isn't against Microsoft it's against themselves.
