Actually, the whole hoopla with DMC2 was that it looked great in videos/previews but sucked ass once played.

I have the overpriced demo and if DMC4 doesn't give me more value for my money then something is seriously wrong, and it definitely isn't my logic!

That is exactly what they are meant to do. They are supposed to let you know if a game is worth purchasing or renting. XBLA reviews would look really different if they were full priced products.Metalmurphy said:Reviews aren't meant to evaluate value...

So you're saying it should get a lower score than an overpriced demo?
I've played DMC3, I know what to expect.

PJX said:DMC4 got a low score because its on the Xbox 360, if it was exclusive to the PS3, the score would've been higher.
My guess is that DMC4 is and will be getting points off for being more of the same. Doesn't matter to me, I want more of DMC.OnimaruXLR said:So going on what slim information was posted, we can infer DMC4 gets points off for lacking mainstream appeal (which I'd argue it has, maybe not as much as God of War but it isn't exactly lacking)

GT has huge mainstream appeal.OnimaruXLR said:So going on what slim information was posted, we can infer DMC4 gets points off for lacking mainstream appeal (which I'd argue it has, maybe not as much as God of War but it isn't exactly lacking)
but GT5 is the simulationiest car tuning simulation that ever simulated a simulation and a slice (albeit a substantial one) of it gets 8.2?
>insert chatter about inconsistency in review scores and their lack of value as proper tools for critical analysis here<
nah, gow is a cakewalk, the hardest part is jumping hell.StarEye said:I had no interest in this game, until I saw one of the latest trailers. I loved God of War, and this looks just as epic and fun to play. I played a bit of DMC1, but never got past the second level on DMC3 (don't mock). I guess I didn't get the mechanics properly, 'cause I managed to get pretty far in Ninja Gaiden before I lost interest. And I finished the final level in God of War, which I think is considered pretty tough.
Anyway, maybe I'll buy it, depends on my economy at the point of release.
Rimshot said:I think 80% is a good score. Means the game is above average. Sure I wished for the game to be a 9+ but it being an 8 won't make me not buy it.
You've completed the entire game then, I assume?Kyoufu said:DMC4 score should be higher.

Seriously, what is this? Cheap Ass Gamer reviews? wtfMetalmurphy said:Reviews aren't meant to evaluate value...
gconsole said:I'm sure we will see a lot of 90% for DMC4 ,but finally it would be somewhere around 85% which is not bad but not very good neither.

I almost felt like like picking it up and checking that out myself yesterday, but alas I don't have the time to bother with my PSM3 reportings any more.SolidSnakex said:Doesn't PSM3 have a rumors section? Which rumors did they steal from surfergirl this month?
Do they dock points off of movies because they're short? What about music albums?I AM JOHN! said:Oh really?

C- Warrior said:A few things:
DMC1, DMC:SE (mostly received scores in the 9's) but the 8's it did receive were from majority European press. Same applies with the various Ninja Gaiden versions.
Just because this is one of the first reviews for DMC4, doesn't make it the "indicative" one (gaf always does this). Computer Games Mag gave DMC3 a 3/10 -- what if that one was the first review for the game? Let's wait for the 90 other review DMC4 gets before you call it a non-9+ game.
EVEN THE BEST GAMES GET A FEW 8's. DMC1 did, DMC3 did, DMC3:SE did, Ninja Gaiden did, Black did, Sigma did, even God of War has.
PS: You guys also notice no game received a 9.0+ in that magazine (PSM UK), maybe they don"t throw around 9's as much.
PPS: Penit (Finland - reviewer) gave Burnout Paradise a 7.7 -- oh my god, the suxxors. Uh no, why does GAF fixate -ON ONE FUCKIN REVIEW?-

You'll have your demo before the end of the month.madmook said:A Turok demo needs to be released on XBL/PSN NOW.
Hey bish, how old is the build of the game in the Gamestop demo? I am just wondering because it seems like it didn't have final polish yet.bishoptl said:You'll have your demo before the end of the month.
As for the Turok score...well, they can't all be 9 out of 10s. *shrug*
