PSN 2.0: What should it be like? (Twitter #BetterPSN)

Also maybe someone could help me filtering some good things out of this list (all unmoderated suggestions)

Quote to reveal, don't want this to be public yet.

A few are quite funny^^

just saying "better free psn games no more indie shit" is really dumb

That would help soooooo much :D
To be honest, I started a PM with the list and kept deleting stuff, but I ended up deleting most of them. They are either useless, have already been mentioned, or are related to the PS4 OS, and have no connection to PSN.

LMAO!! its been around for 2 weeks now :P we figured as much since the ps down threads have gotten more posts than us.

With the help of Kotaku we've reached over 2.2 million people!

Ya that's awesome :)

In case someone is interested (Only checks up to 1.500 tweets in free version, so its likely more):

Anyone here with a disqus account who could take over for a while? Have to get up for work in around 4 hours :-/ Just don't want to see any absolute rude comments there.

Not had much use out of my PS4 so never really bothered me. Had half hour to play rocket league and the patch is 1.1615/1.946gb with 35 minutes left on my rock solid 152mb connection.

I don't, but just disable it. Also, don't let this interfere with your daily life, you need more than 4 hours of sleep.

An option to mark games as completed, incomplete, not played, no interest, etc would be nice. As well as a timing system along the same line as what Steam has too.

Hmm, something I'm noticing is that the order of the suggestions is having an impact on the "Most wanted improvements" list. The top 5 improvements are the ones that appear first on the list:

This probably means that most people don't bother reaching the bottom of the page, which has very popular improvements such as Two-factor authentication.

A solution to this would be to randomize the order of the categories (Account/Profile Improvements, General usability Improvements, etc.) on every page load, but it sounds like it could be kind of a pain to code it :/

What do you think, Bahlor?

Things I would like to have added:
- Viewing your trophy collection while offline (can be done on PS3 and Vita, but not on PS4)

since some people aren't clicking the link.

“Feedback from our community is very important to us and helps guide our ongoing commitment toward making PlayStation the best place to play,” a Sony spokesperson said in a statement provided to GamesBeat. “We encourage users to submit ideas on ways to improve PlayStation products and services here: http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/. We appreciate the dialogue we have with our gamers and have built and improved features based directly on their input.”

He's not from Sony. He's no better than the MVPs already on this forum.

:( I see. But in the Venture Beats link sony did address us.

Basically the PR response before the eventual response once Sony realizes how big the campaign is getting. Gotta stop any source of negative PR.

yeah PR stuff is like a robot answer.. Hopefully someone serious gives us a solid answer about whats gonna happen. Sony needs to have their customers on the loop! I can't be paying for ps+ anymore until service improves to a point where it is acceptable and is on par with Microsoft or Steams servers.

Betterpsn.com seems much better (lol) organised and easier to browse than share.blog.us.playstation.com
- and the lack of the "us" helps as well as it makes it less a regional thing
- betterpsn.com is more comparable to the uservoice page that Microsoft has for Xbox

@etta, I've made this (a mash-up of a few pictures) when I did up my post (been wanting to do it for a well now) - hope it's of use to you

I can help manage
the boards
Could someone help me moderating those disqus-boards a bit?

Nice, I used it as the header. Can you clean up the edges around the blue logo? Or can someone with photoshop/gimp installed do it?

I made it with Paint.NET (which I'm still very rough at... lol no longer have Photoshop)
would appreciate it if someone could help with that

Maybe it would be more efficient to petition for it to be free again. I have a feeling that a corporation who has as many flaws in their infrastructure as Sony won't make the progress in the time span we want.

Lol good luck with that

I'm surprised better download list management and 2 factor authentication aren't the top requests. Everything else is almost trivial behind these two.

4 hours are ok actually as long as its not daily :) It is already interfering a bit, but that's ok. There are just too many requests on twitter, mail, disqus and the website itself via suggestions. Someone has to reply^^ I'm just a bit overwhelmed by all this, but still... it's awesome how many people are reacting to this.

Hm ya... true... I will work something idea. Maybe I will just shuffle it on your first visit and hold the order in your session. Could be quite irritating if it happens on every site refresh.

EDIT: feature implemented

Awesome! Thanks! I added it as header image on twitter :) Also thanks for helping me out, have sent you a pm about this.

I had this discussion with a lot of people and I mean a lot... there are so many that demand a free PSN etc. In my opinion this is just unrealistic and we really should not focus on something like this. I mean, why should Sony do this? They would lose one of their most profitable things and we should be happy about Sony making money. We all know how much trouble they had recently, now they gain enough to even invest in new things. Totally fine for me!

This better be a joke cause there's no way that's happening.

That response couldn't be more generic and worthless even if Sony tried to.

As much as I'd like that, the only PS+ "feature" that matters to me is online play, that's not going to happen.

it's a little disappointing that the bullet points don't mention the sad state of download speeds, messaging problems and network downtime.

weren't those issues the catalyst for the start of this campaign?
For me download speed is the most important fix that PSN desperately needs. Downloads are way to slow and the are too inconsistent. Averaging on 0.5MB/s in 2015 is laughably bad Sony.

Please, please give me more cloud storage!! I'm deleting things every time I play a new game.

I wouldn't say no to the ability to pay to change my PSN ID or many other suggestions either!

Keep up the good fight you social media guys.

Ship's long sailed by this point, and call me petty/cheap if you want, but I'm serious when I say that online multiplayer locked between PS Plus is a (if not the) big reason why I'm not planning to get a PS4 anytime soon.

PS3's PSN having free online multiplayer over Xbox Live was effectively the deal-breaker towards getting a PS3 over a 360 for me; so to have that locked behind PS Plus, even in the face of the Xbox One DRM fiasco, was a huge disappointment IMO.

There's nothing petty/cheap about not wanting to pay for multiplayer.

Wow ... so much press coverage... can't believe it. Btw...1k followers on twitter, yesterday evening we had a reach of 2.2 mio!

Also: 10k unique visitors yesterday and already 14k today :)

24 hours ago... we had ~3k visits and ~40 followers and ~200k reach

Woah! You're amazing!

Blame Microsoft and their fans for showing you can put online multiplayer behind a paywall and people will pay for it. Why would Sony not charge for it if the market will tolerate it?

This is a good idea, but I'm not sure how much traction it will get given that it's not (as yet) a Sony backed initiative.

When someone hasn't pressed a button for 5 minutes or so, put a status under their name that says that they may be 'AFC' or something. Trying to message or invite people when they've merely left their console running is a bit annoying.

Yeah, download speed is my number one issue as well. Being randomly and regularly throttled to 400kbps throughout a download is a huge deal when trying to reinstall games that have large patches and a lot of DLC. What is sad is I started this generation as a digital only consumer, but their throttling has completely reversed that to the point that I rarely buy anything on PSN, and go to the XB1 for digital only games.

The second biggest issue for me is the abysmal state of the library. Not being able to hide or remove betas and demos is beyond annoying, as is not being able to sort DLC separate from games. In the library uninstalled disc based games that you have any kind of DLC for show up identical to a digital game that is fully installed. The PS4 library is one of the worst digital content management systems I have ever seen. It would be nice of them to at least tell us if they know how dreadfully bad it is and are working towards fixing it.

At this moment in time we have absolutely zero information on anything they are working on with the UI. At least in the past we had some kind of idea that they were working on suspend resume or shareplay. Sony did a masterful job of selling us on their system, and now that they have a comfortable lead they aren't doing anything that we know of to actually improve that system.

the ability to delete things from your library is logistics nightmare. you should be able to hide things that are in your library

Agreed, that would be crazy giving people full delete access to their licenses. One wrong button press, and you have idiots calling sony support explaining how they deleted gta5.

We need to be able to change usernames.

Even if they let you change just once and charge for other changes, fine.

But this feature is a must.
