PSN down?

Oh, i'm perfectly well aware of what a DDoS is. I've been on the internet since the very beginning.
That doesn't change the fact that we are entitled to some form of compensation if this is going to happen pretty often.

One of the dumbest posts I've read today. Thanks for the laughs.

Then back to the beginning we go. Its up to them to catch whoever is doing it before this becomes something regular.
All of this has been explained to you in this thread, Grandfather Internet - but you aren't listening are you. Go email Sony asking for compensation, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours.

Not the Ubisoft titles, i can still play them fine.

That's not the issue here, please stop detracting.

Another one, please stop detracting.

I'm perfectly calm and multi-quoting all the fanatics as we speak.
That being said. As a consumer i stand for my rights. Too bad you think its fine for a company to fuck you up whenever they can.

The word you're looking for is deflecting, not detracting ... and, that is the issue. Sony hasn't done anything wrong; Microsoft didn't do anything wrong. They owe you nothing -- they're losing sales while their system is down, more than you're losing. The company is not doing anything wrong nor have they screwed you in any way. You seem to have cognitive issues regarding the situation.

I'm sorry....condescending is a better word. Especially with your " yawn" response to another post.

I haven't seen a fanatic in here yet. You stand for your rights as long as it gets you something free. Practice your right to not pay for a product you don't think is performing. I doubt you'd do that because there's nothing free and you don't get to shout out dem consumer rights.

And that relates to ddos how lmao. Why didn't they catch them when steam got ddos?
We were talking about FBI catching whoever is behind this.
Maybe they didn't care enough to actually go after the guys that done it.

There's nothing else to talk about. Not sure why some of you keep quoting even after i made my point clear.

Feel free to ignore, you're welcome.

It is not even close and xone was bad when live acted up at least not long after launch.

You might want to calm down a bit on this stuff man. A quick browse of your post history shows quite the trend forming.

As an owner of multiple PS3s, 360's, 2 PS4's and 1 xb1... There have been more problems, and more severe problems with Sony's service than ms. Someone may be able to correct me here, but if memory serves I would say I've had more trouble with ps+ this first year of the ps4 than I had the entirety of the 360. If not factual, it certainly feels that way with multiple downtimes, interruptions in service, problems with retrieving messages and invites.. This year has been a massive mess. I'm not making the argument that MS is better, or vice versa... Both have pro's and con's and I quite enjoy both consoles. But I am saying if you're going to compare them a lot of it is based on personal experience and memories of that experience.

And you scoff at compensation, thats fine. But the reality is we're paying for a service now. I'm not unreasonable here, but at some point compensation isn't out of the question when your paid service isn't performing.

Uplay isn't immune to this either. Hell, I remember one occasion that Uplay when down because Driver San Fran was on sale on Steam. In other words: A sale DDOS'd Uplay.

We can go round and round naming online game services but the fact is that not one is immune to a DDOS attack, as unfortunate as it may be.

And THAT'S different too. No one "robbed" anything from you.

The fanatism is way too strong for me to handle Sunday at night.
I rest my case as i made my point clear.

/Ignore.

And maybe they don't care enough about point? It's not Sony's responsibility it us the authorities.

People have said this before but the main reason is that Microsoft actually has a business of server farms.

This is the good thing about the PC, the different services to play game. You can't take them all down.

Live has been down as much on xone this year as psn I am pretty sure. Isn't there a list out that details this?

Compensation for ddos is not reasonable lol. It is not something you can stop.... Period.

That doesn't make sense.

it makes perfect sense you paid $400 for a console you paid $60 for a game you paid your ISP you paid PSN

3 out of 4 of these things are affected by an attack as a consumer your frustration is targeted at where your money was invested you want the service you paid for you can't touch the attacker but you can demand Sony fix the way they provide the service = defend the service from attacks

The fbi has other priorities

That's fair to an extent but I will not exactly get mad to the company or act as I don't get that is actually a complex problem to resolve.

Which is fine, again I wasn't trying to say one is better than the other. My point was the person I quoted was making some pretty broad and general claims across the board. And the point of compensation is silly. At SOME point, I'm not saying now, or any particular time, you expect the provider of your paid service to make it up to you.

This 'not their fault' argument is odd to me. In an extreme example, if they were ddos victims for 6 months straight with little to no usage of the service available.. Would we still be throwing our hands up saying 'Its not their fault! We'll just keep paying for something we can't use!'? Again, extreme example, but as I said at some point enough is enough.

You must not have been around when we got free games for service being offline for extended periods of time. Undertow, some Texas Hold Em Poker, and another board/strategy game.

What does that have to do with the topic at hand??? You were complaining about compensation for a DDOS attack, which I've hopefully established by now is a possibility for any online service.
Take that PC master race bullshit elsewhere dude.

No. No, it hasn't. And I don't see why you're bringing them into the discussion.

Like, are people really arguing that the current state of PSN is ok? Are we using the same PSN?

This is so frustrating because I can't play anything because its all digital and I have to restore my licenses every fucking time I get on. I would not hesitate to murder any of these ddos tools

Keep the silly answers coming. That's downright trolling in my book, but hey, whatever makes you happy and help you sleep at night.
At least i don't stand and defend any company. I have dignity which is something you'll always lack.

Stop throwing live into this. It definitely hasn't been down on XB1 as much as the PSN has on my PS4. Live has had intermittent issues that last ~1-2 hours on occasion but signing in and matchmaking have worked pretty much flawlessly since launch. The friends list had some issues a while back for a day.

Yo do no need to restore them every time at all. As long as you are on your primary account then you are fine.
