I can forgive a thunderstorm cutting off power etc (to an extent) MS and Sony need to find a way to address this, I am sure it is just as frustrating for them as it is for the people who want to use their services.

Well, one good way to at least discourage it is not doing a new thread every time they feel that they need to forget about their mommy and daddy issues. Many posters like to create a thread about them every time they fart. A single thread will at least maintain the discussion and lower the "panic".

I think the best reply to a person who wants compensation for DDoS attacks on PSN or other services attached to it is to offer the logic of avoiding a service where DDoS attacks will be an issue in the first place
I don't think it is realistic to expect a person not to feel frustrated over service downtimes or expecting better for the money they spent
On a Sunday Night where a Football fan might miss an NFL Sunday Ticket game or someone not being able to get on Destiny it is acceptable for those types of hardcore fans to feel a level of frustration
