So that means I can't change my password unless I fix my YLOD'd PS3?

Ugh, this would be some serious bullshit if true.

I do remember reading it'd be possible to change your password through e-mail verification, so I hope that's still the case.

Updating Now!!!

It's slooowww, as expected when 78million people are doing it at the same time:)

Awesome job Sony, FUK YOU anonymous!

78 million people aren't downloading it at the same time though. There hasn't even been sold 78 million PS3s :p

Downloaded and installed, but PSN is not back up yet .
This is just a preparation step. Hopefully we're getting there, I guess next week is the week.

It said only if you've never downloaded anything via your account.

I'm in this same boat, so hopefully there's a solution (like web login, or whatever). Or, hell, if my PSP can go online and do it too.

Someone should put that in the topic title, or there's going to be a lot of disappointed people.

it was the first post in the thread that made me lol... I mean, imagine how much worse that would make it if they shipped an update that was meant to fix it but actually bricked machines. It would be a comedy of errors

Not that I want it to happen (it would render my ps3 a useless brick too), but that would be really funny.
