PSN thread: PSN up in all areas except HK/Korea (Store is not up yet)

Someone needs to make a thread that just says "YES YOU CAN SYNC STEAM WITH PSN RIGHT NOW" just so people stop asking every 50 posts.

There is a security measure in place to give you the option to require passwords after every purchase. You also need to type in your password to add funds.

Yes?

I didn't want to replay the game 2 times for Steam achievements. If PSN saves me time, so be it.

Apparently I'm blind. I guess since I had auto sign in on I never saw it.

That was always there. I used it.

I'm sure he's a very nice person. His radio show doesn't belong on the air in NY.
I happen to like his opinions and he's frank. Tells it like it is but we can talk about that on PSN :P

Ugh, did you see the news interviews with her? She sounded like she was being coached by her lawyer or reading a teleprompter half the time. I hope it gets thrown out. The court just approved the Statement of Claim. Sony apparently hasn't answered it yet.

Basically, the CAL is calling for Sony to pay for credit monitoring services for Canadians, but didn't they say that they'd do that worldwide anyway, or am I mistaken?

C'mon Torontooooooo!

Not worldwide, America only.

Just thought you guys would like to know...

The trophies I earned while playing Portal 2 single player offline synched with the Steam achievements.

Oh my god, sorry if this is a repost.. but this has to be one of the best pics related to psn being down to date, i'm a huge death note fan

The question is if you can do it without having a steam account on 4/20. Did someone answer this for me since the thread is moving fast. I didn't see an answer and that's what I really want to know.

I'm going to be pissed for waiting if that's the case.

This has been known but it's still a sweet revelation to those who have no clue. Linked trophies/steam achievements are amazing.

Honestly I don;t know much about it, I just overheard it on the radio in the car while driving home, did she really lose her money or something? I'd like to see where this case goes though

There's no reason it wouldnt work. The linkage is on Steam not Sony.

Yes, but the way Valve worded it, Steam/PSN needed to be synced for that "lockstep." Accounts that were synced before PSN went down have no problem. It's those of us that didn't sync that are curious if Steam acheivements are lockstep from the downtime.

Still madly trying to sign in every 5 minutes... nothing for Utah so far. At least for me. Damn you sony, I was going to do something other then that all night

Well when you go to sync the account, the option is still in the menu to "create new steam account," but I don't know that anyone has gone to redeem a PC/Mac version that didn't already use Steam, no. But all it's doing is communicating with the Steam server so I'm not sure why new account creation wouldn't work.

(Also, I'm not saying I blame you for asking. I'm saying Portal 2 is the most pressing issue about PSN being down and almost deserves its own thread because people ARE going to keep asking.)

I removed my PS3 copy of Portal 2 from its wrapper an hour and a half ago, put it in my PS3, and synced with Steam. I am now downloading it onto my Mac. It works. The whole thing works fine. Can't answer about achievements yet since it's another HOUR AND A HALF to finish downloading. Ugh.

I dont see why it wouldnt, its linking your psn to your steam, so it would update retroactively.

I get you want a concrete answer, but I would have just played anyways. Its a short game, and it seems as though they would sync after you linked it.

Ahhhh... then it could probably go to court. You can ask for anything in a Statement of Claim, but the judge might not give it to you. So you can get some sort of compensation in a trial, but they might not get the high price they're asking for.

The Toronto law firm McPhadden Samac Tuovi LLP has commenced a proposed class action against Sony Japan, Sony USA, Sony Canada and other Sony entities (“Sony”) for the breach of privacy. The lawsuit claims damages in excess of $1 billion, which includes having Sony pay the costs of credit monitoring services and fraud insurance coverage for two years.
