It sounds like Wild Arms is a combination of the look and style of Jeane and the gameplay of FFT?

Perfect game of all time confirmed?

So glad to hear about the super positive impressions for Wild ARMs XF. :D Too bad I won't be able to play it until like March 7th or 8th, but oh well.

so much japanese trash, where is the western love?
Huh. I'm not sure why, but after reading this suddenly a bunch of the games on this list that only registered an "eh" from me before are now earning more serious second looks.

Back on topic here. All those PSP games will be mine  PSP may not have made a huge dent in the portable market, but I hope it sticks around, well long enough to give Nintendo competition to update the DS to PSP graphics. Granted I own both portables, but love the RPG art on the PSP.

Whoa, when the hell did this get announced? Does look a lot like the PSOne version, is it just a straight port? Awesome game, one of my favorite platformers.

Can't wait for Crisis Core & HSGP2, looks like a great year for PSP.

Another awesomeness that is having that is having -300% chances of coming out here in NA...

What is this awesomeness that i will never play here? (Canada)
This game or just checkout Duckroll's thread.

Lots of good PSP games coming out this year indeed but, I'm still waiting to see what this Persona title is from Atlus. Hopefully it's not just a port of the first Persona PSX game but it probably will be.

I'm gamer/gaming collector, I rather own a physical copy of the game with games and instruction manual with case, rather than just a file.

PSN downloads come with a copy of the instruction manual that is accessible by pressing the home button. Just sayin'... :D

That's understandable--I'm the same way. You might want to consider the PSN version as well though since the portability between the PS3 and PSP is miles beyond just streaming the PS1 disc.

The PSP's library still dominates.

I'm just afraid that they may be blowing their entire load this year. I really hope the awesome titles continue to flow in after my purchase :P

Harvey Birdman
Patapon
R-Type: Command
FF7: Crisis Core
Yggdra Union
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep

and I have to buy dracula X

Is Dissidia scheduled for this year?

I believe initially Dissidia was scheduled for the end of 2007 launch. But looking at the current progress of the game, I'm pretty sure it will make an 08 release.

I have to be honest... 2007 I felt my PSP had the best line-up of any of the systems I own. 2008 is looking the same. It just appeals to me in such a ridiculously awesome way. I love the ports like Star Ocean, FFT, even the seemingly-despised-by-GAF Valkyrie Profile, I love new stuff like Jeanne d'Arc, Tales of the World, and I love the quirky stuff like LocoRoco (one of my favorite platformers ever <3) and hopefully Patapon.

God bless Sony for making the PSP. It may not garner the sales of the DS but it sure as hell has a badass library.

Looking at the list in the OP here's what I want.

WipeOut: Pulse - I haven't played a WipeOut game since the PS1 and the 1up Show segment made me want this.
God Of War: Chains Of Olympus
FF7: Crisis Core
Secret Agent Clank
Echochrome - But I'll probably wait until it's cheap.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep

I'm kind of surprised that I listed 6 games.

just god of war and crisis core for me. 1 up show killed my enthusiasm for patapon. as for the jrpgs i doubt we'll see them here

So I'm taking the plunge and buying a psp. The price tag is still a little hard to sallow but I've justified the price based on the capabilities of the psp. The kicker is I won't be able to pick one up until April at the earliest.

Looks even thinner than 2007. :/ Patapon's it for me from that list.

For the most past this list is only covering the Q1-2008 releases, and already a major batch titles are hitting the platform early in the year (WipeOut Pulse, Patapon, GOW, Crisis Core, MHP: 2ndG, etc..). So this year is obviously beginning on a greater pace than 2007 (and probably will end on an even better note as well).

Holy shit am I glad I blew all my gaming budget on getting portables last year instead of going completely next-gen. DS and PSP are proving to be more than worth it. Crisis Core looks just so awesome. Patapon, too.

I have barely played anything on my psp..looks good to have all these games to choose from...rpg heaven

I don't think I will have the time to go next gen..

I think I've got to go with Wipeout and Patapon, both on the same day! After that I've got to decide between Crisis Core and GOW. I wish these were a little more spread out. I have no restraint :(. If EB wasn't giving a demo and extra weapon that you can continue with in the full game for preordering (yikes...bad sentence) I'd probably hold off on Patapon for a little while.

The PSP is the new PS2.......for rpgs.

It makes me glad that the psp is region free.

In for:
Wild Arms xf
God of war
R type Command
Patapon
Secret Agent Clank

I would love for Capcom to remake Street Fighter III for the PSP. Remaking Street Fighter II Turbo HD for the PS3 is good precursor to Street Fighter IV but I feel that the PSP is being left out. They've done Megaman, now do Street Fighter.

For those of you who point to CPS3 emulation (not sure if you can do with the PSP at this point), there are still tons of people who do not downgrade their PSPs.
