Musashi Wins! said:Yea, this is the best handheld news in several years.
I'm buying an older firmware version psp someone doesn't use for very cheap. Can't wait for a downgrader.
Shouta said:It's great news for me because I can now play some of these JP only PSX RPGs I have laying around on the go, assuming they work anyway.

Wario64 said:I played some SOTN on my PSP all day today, waiting at the restaurant, playing on the go...oh man so sweet. And it works perfectly, perfect framerate, all sound effects and music...just ****ing wow
My concern with this emulator is multi-disc games. Some games don't allow you to save before switching discs, which can be a problem. Can we get a list of these problematic games? I think Chrono Cross and MGS are gonna be problems because of this...too bad, since both of these games kick ass.
They aren't being overwritten, for some reason it only shows the last game you played in your save data utility but all the saves are stored on virtual memory cards in your SAVEDATA folder.Linkzg said:is there a way to have multiple saves? I think it overwrites it when i play a new game

MGSO = the 300 dollar game. This nutty homebrew = magical icing.
Now to dig up old games. :lol

Great party Sony!
DCharlie said:seriously - this is the most awesome thing EVER.
I'm already planning on emptying "the cupboard of death" and finding all the games i have and just ripping them all onto a big disk array.
The time to buy 3-4 huge drives has come...
Little Ralph, Internal Section, Einhander, Harmful Park, WIPEOUT 20FRIGGEN97 on the go...

uhhh what?
I mean... who is going to buy FFT now when you can just rip the game from disk?

DCharlie said:1) who is going to pay to download games now? (obviously lots of people... but...)
2) aren't 3rd parties who were planning on porting old games or selling them on the PS store going to be utterly seething at sony for this? Poor security and now they literalyl just handed the hacking community an A grade PS1 emulator.
As utterly amazingly awesome as this is, you've got to think that people are going to be pissed. Sony are going to be pissed, and people are going to be pissed at Sony (companies i mean).
Obviously, we are all as happy as pigs in shit, and rightly so! The PSP is the machine that keeps giving. But sony just helped to cut one of their own revenue streams quite badly, and could have possibly pissed off a number of devs.

People that have a post 2.71 PSP or one with the newer motherboards. Which is a huge, huge number outside of GAFland
It is tough to remember that the outside world is so out of it when it comes to this kind of stuff when you are surrounded by really active video game and tech communities.
HOPE THE PS3 IS THE SAME WAY MUHAUHAUHA
