Ever done this ? im basically going through it right now. 8 am here.

Going through a couple of hard things in my life and my sleep hours are just all over the place. Going to bed at 5-6am and waking up at 4-5pm.

Tried to go to bed earlier, cant sleep until it becomes at least 5am.

This seems to happen to me every couple of years. And i always go through the same thing of not sleeping an entire day just to be tired enough the next night. Weird thing is that it always works and i go back to normal.

Any similar situations ?

I do this all the time cause I usually have a hard time getting back on track. Screwing up my schedule right not since I'm still up at almost 5 am....

Been there done that. Worst thing is a couple of times, i have ended up sleeping like 15 hours just to figure out that i am back in the same rhythm! Lazy me.

I just have a terrible sleeping schedule and a horrible time lying in bed trying to fall asleep for hours. Sometimes I stay up until 5 in the morning like tonight, but tomorrow I'll have to go to bed at around 12 as I have classes in the morning. Great fun.

Working nights has messed up my schedule. i try to do this but just end up fucking myself over sleeping 12-14 hours on my day off.

Doing yhis now as well. gonna get a double shot espresso in a few hours and some stuff to keep me awake for the rest of the day! WHOO

During school holidays back in the day I used to do this all the time, whenever I didn't have a fixed schedule to adhere to I'd end up sleeping later and later each night until I was going to bed at 9am and waking up in time for dinner.

To fix it, I'd assign a 5 day period prior to school returning where I would do the same thing, but accelerated. Each night I'd stay up 3-4 hours later than the previous one, aided by caffeine, fapping sugar and DVD box sets. I haven't needed to do this in years though.

I've done this so many times. Like you said, you start sleeping most of the day away, which sucks.

An all-nighter makes for a really shitty day, but then I'm out by like 9 o'clock and am up at a normal time in the morning.

Then again, I have a lot of work due this week. Perhaps a messed up schedule full of all-nighters (or most of the-nighters) would be beneficial to getting things done. I can fix everything once Spring break starts.

Yeah, I'm sort of in the same boat. From tomorrow on I'll have to wake up at 5am to commute to my internship. Yesterday (or rather today) I went to bed at 2am...
Now I need to go to sleep at 11 to at least be able to sleep for 6h and I'm sure it'll never work out, so I bet I will be getting sub-6h-sleep for 3 months
:(

Btw. have you ever considered that sleeping 6h/day wastes 1/4 of your life, sleeping 8h/day wastes 1/3 of it :O

I slept 2 hours on Friday night and like 4 hours just ast night.

I need to get on a normal schedule. Buried in work though. Blah.

Yep, but the problem is it usually backfires and you crash in the afternoon, fucking yourself up even worse.

A bunch of wine and reading in bed will usually knock me out even if I've only been up 12-14 hrs.

My sleeping habits are shit, even if I fix it I'll ruin it again. Also gotta appreciate my dog waking me up bright and early.

This is what's happening to me right now. I went to bed at 7am yesterday. Damn you spring break.

I just get drunk. For some reason I always wake up around 7 am after drinking. Ive had to reset that internal clock quite a few times this semester. Fucking procrastination....

I work in a nightclub so my sleep pattern is forever fucked. If I need to be up early in the morning I just stay up and power through the whole day.. Which is what I'm doing now, 10am over here and got work in 10hrs, but got so much work to do I can't afford to sleep through the whole day.

what a coincidence I JUST DECIDED TO DO THIS

that and i have a ton of shit due

Ya, this is my decision tonight to :/
damn procrastination, and I won't even get to sleep a lot after this because I have so much to do. :(

I just tried that shit and failed... I just woke up 2 hours ago... which was 12 am. I ended up sleeping at 5 pm.

FML this shit sucks.

I have to do this every couple of months. I hope you're ok salsashark, it sucks staying up all night stressing out because of life and it's problem. Doesn't help that waking up in the afternoon makes you feel even worse.

Coffee.

We'll see how this one goes, cause as i said, i have plans for today.

Gonna go downtown to buy a hat (wut) later, then visiting my sister, and going out with this girl at "night". All without sleeping. Not to mention that i actually went out last night and got hammered, so im still feeling that a little bit. Call me stupid but i see fun ahead, lol.

I hear ya. Been trying to fix this shit too many times only to wake up thinking i made it and then its 6pm, boo-hoo.

All the time. I work 10 hour overnight shifts on the weekends and if I want to have any semblance of a normal life on my three days off during the week, I have to correct it by staying up for like 24+ hours straight...only to do the exact opposite thing a day later. It's awful.

i work nights...so its kinda the other way around for me. if i dont get to bed by early morning, i sometimes try to stay up late as hell and just go full circle to fix it, lest i wake up late evening and miss everything.

I have a terrible sleeping schedule, I go to sleep at around 6-7AM everyday and try to wake up at 12-1, but even if I work early I still barely go to sleep at a normal time. I worked 7AM-3PM the last two days and went to sleep at 5AM and took a nap when I got back, I dunno why I do it.

I've stayed up all night quite a few times to try and fix it, sometimes it helps and other times it makes it even worse if you can't pull through. Try to keep yourself really busy around 11AM, that is always when I crash and burn, but it's smooth sailing after that.

I've found melatonin useful to get to sleep if taken sparingly.

If I need to stay up for a long time, Civ IV or some RPG-game to stay up.

I work rotating shifts so it's a pain.

Things get harder when you have a job, lectures, seminars and essays to juggle. I've been going to sleep at about 4/5am recently, as I'm up all night doing essays, but today I had to get up at 8am (had 2 and a half hours sleep) so hopefully I'll go to sleep at midnight-ish tonight

I've been fighting this fight for the past 3 months. I think today may be the day I fix the cycle. Not only does this affect me physically but also financially, the electric bill has been a bit higher than usual these past few months.

I choose to stay up from an hour to 3hrs longer each day until my 'sleep' hours shifted. I went from sleeping between the hours of 7am-2pm (sometimes longer...) to 11:30pm-4am. It ends today!!!!

Yeah, I do it often.
Apparently it's easy to reset your sleep cycle by having regular meals.
fuck that noise. Eating is for pussies. And sleeping is too.

In all seriousness, I think i ought to skip out on sleep friday to reset my schedule before finals. Been having a hard time sleeping more than 4 straight hours without waking up at least once.

Exactly same thing here, I've been trying to sleep for the past 6hrs and I'm incredibly tired but I just can't fall asleep.

I have to do this all the time. It's such a pain in the ass. The only way I manage to survive is by sitting at the computer and listening to music. Watching TV/movies, reading books or playing video games are all things that cause me to pass out. Going out or going for walks just make me collapse when I get back home, or have panic attacks when I'm out. Yup, the only thing that works is sitting on my ass.

Being unemployed for nearly a year has messed my sleeping pattern up. I normally stay up til about 5am and then sleep til early afternoon. Might have to pull an all-nighter one day soon and attempt to fix myself. Not done an all-nighter in ages though, don't know if i can stay awake for that long :P

Doing it now too. Have amazing trouble getting up for work during the week (have 5 alarms set, but somehow manage to thwart them all without waking up fully). At the weekend I have no repercussionsas opposed to during the week so always end up sleepng till between 11:30am and 13:00pm.

Every so often I pull an all-nighter on a Sunday night so I can get to work early enough to be able to leave early at the end of the day. I'll be clinically dead till about 11pm which is when I'll finally cease to be. Usually fixes it for a few weeks.

i have an eye exam in 6 hours.... should have went to bed. my sleep pattern is fucked thanks to my job.

maybe i'll reschedule it since the roads are horrible anyway.

OP do you have a job? if not you should get one. After a while of hard work you will have a good sleep.

Working from home.

Starting film school in a couple of days, that should help.
