Pushmo/Pullblox World announced for Wii U

Very nice. This had better use the GamePad in a meaningful way (ie. touch to drag blocks).

Mmm, not sure that'd work as a control method to me, there's the tactile aspect of Mallo interacting with them. The big Gamepad advantage would be in terms of constructing levels.

Looking at the various pages, would I be right in saying that one of them seems to imply that 3DS QR codes work on Wii and vice-versa?

Wait....Intelligent Systems isn't owned by Nintendo? You just blew my mind.

Can't wait for this. Pushmo and Crashmo are both amazing games!

That's right! Neither HAL Laboratory nor Intelligent Systems is owned by Nintendo (Wikipedia is wrong).

So just because Intelligent Systems makes a game doesn't automatically make it a 1st-party commissioned-by-Nintendo title. They also take the time to make small games by themselves.

Looks very similar to the original. I would rather Nintendo focus on new eShop IPs on Wii U like they did 3DS. Pushmo/Crashmo, Dillon, etc. are better than Dr. Luigi and Pokemon Rumble. They did make NES Remix but that is just modified NES games.

Nevertheless, more Pushmo is good.

Amazing! Also, it seemed like there was at least one new gimmick in the puzzle solving from the original Pushmo, unless I forgot about it. The timed block, where once you jump off of it, it's pushed back in. Day -1 for me. Pushmo is still in my top 5 favorite 3DS games.

Awesome. Is this just a pair of ports or a new game? Might get it even if it's just ports, those games are great.

From the video it seems like it is just a port of the 3DS version(s) with cross sharing of levels between 3DS and Wii U. I'm also still tempted to double dip, although I feel the 3DS is the better platform for this particular game.

Edit: Actually on second glance, it seems like it does have at least some new content in that teaser so maybe it is a full-fledged sequel?

Nice. I loved Pushmo. Sadly never got around to playing Crashmo. Here's hoping the Wii U version comes with new puzzles and not just a complete repeat of the 3DS game.

IntSys are in their own building now right? But HAL is still in Nintendo's so the latter is like "you're here so it's like we own you anyway" right?

Both are exclusive anyway I think, also wasn't IntSys formed by R&D1 folks?

Doesn't look to be. That whole flashing block mechanic wasn't in the last two games to my knowledge.

Edit:

Not super excited though I got pretty deep into the bonus levels on Pushmo so I felt kinda burned out when. Crashmo came out so I haven't finished it yet (though I haven't played any 3DS game other then Mii Plaza games this year).

Will pick it up in a sale but this is the last game that could benefit from more technological power.

Pushmo is amazing and all of the new block types and additions look great. Never really likes crashmo though.

Intelligent Systems is an independent company...

They make small games like Pushmo and massive games like Fire Emblem under contract with Nintendo.
They're not independent unless you really bend the word. They are pretty autonomous.

So it's just a port of the first 3DS game?

Intelligent System is not a subsidiary of Nintendo? (really? All their game but two are published by Nintendo). And you can't call game like this "Indie" just because they're smaller type game, it's still being published by a major publisher. That'd be like calling Child of Light indie.

This game is published by Nintendo...

People call games like Journey indie so it really depends on how you define it.

Confirmation that the game is NOT a port, if you go to the website, if you click the first button, the orange one, it gives you a page with 4 videos of the 4 new mechanics they added to the blocks.
