DALLAS August 7, 2009 On Thursday, August 13th, at 9:00am, the doors to the worlds greatest LAN party will swing open and thousands of videogame fans will gather at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Dallas, Texas to enjoy 75 hours of jam-packed fun and excitement. With events happening 24-hours-a-day, attendees will have their choice of watching top professional players pushing their skills and opponents nerves to the limits in a battle for a $50,000 prize purse, participating in one-of-a-kind attendee contests, keeping up with the latest in videogame software and hardware development at the Main Stage presentations, or vying for a coveted ticket to win a 540 horsepower Shelby GT500. More than 6,000 people are expected to attend QuakeCon 2009 from August 13 16. QuakeCon is free and open to the public.
In addition to hosting daily exhibits, North Americas largest LAN party, and professional gaming broadcasts from the coverage lounge, QuakeCon 2009 event highlights include the first public demonstrations of RAGE and Brink, the id Software press conference, John Carmacks keynote address, a talk by Todd Howard and of course, the QUAKE LIVE Tournament Finals. Ventrilo Ultimate Power-up Contest, Shelby GT500 Unveiling
Come see the unveiling of the 2010 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 Coupe to be given away in the Ventrilo Ultimate Power Up Sweepstakes. Two names will be drawn to receive the first two of only 100 prized tickets.

Everyone receives a raffle ticket when they register for QuakeCon. During scheduled Alienware Quick Draw drawings throughout the show, two names will be drawn to play a QUAKE LIVE match against each other on the Exhibitor Event Stage, with the winner taking home $1,000. Players must be present at the time of drawing in order to participate.

Supercharge your gaming experience using Sound, Memory and PSUs. Hosting a revitalized hardware workshop at Quakecon 2009, PC Perspective (www.pcper.com) will take an in-depth look at the best current and future gaming hardware available.
