So, I'm interested in perhaps buying a 4K Blu-ray Player, but I had a question about them first. Some older anime Blu-rays that I am looking to watch are in 16:9 aspect ratio. Would a 4K Blu-ray Player upscale the picture automatically to fit the entirety of my 4K TV screen? Thanks for the help!

What television are you using?
What is the aspect ratio of the tv?

Dont worry about the Blu-ray player doing the upscaling as most tvs usually do that themselves and they do a better job of it than using any additional upscalers. If your anime is 16:9 it should fill the whole screen just fine assuming your TV isnt some weird aspect ratio.

It should automatically unless it's an old non-anamorphic DVD.

The Blu-rays in question are actually 4:3 and not 16:9. My mistake. I had the Bleach Vol. 1 Blu-ray set and my Blu-ray player didn't upscale it and my TV COULD stretch the picture, but it looked really bad.
