Question about Sephiroth and Vincent (Final Fantasy VII SPOILERS)

The only thing I found confusing or maybe just weird, was how she was just chilling in some cave years later.

I think she says the Jenova cells are the only thing keeping her alive, since she disappears for good after that one time you meet her.

I still think this is stupid. The only thing that really makes Sephiroth special are the Jenova cells, he goes on to do exactly what Jenova's original goal was and he shows a strong obsession towards his "mother" through the course of the game. But blah blah it was in the Ultimania so whatever.

Yeah, it's dumb. It's something that didn't need to be confusing and obtuse.

Vincent had the last laugh through the compilation, he merk'd Hojo, looks less than half his age (dude is pushing 70 if I recall correctly), became a immortal demigod Spawn knockoff, and made Yuffie so thirsty he could snap his fingers and she'd be DTF. Meanwhile Lucrecia is still taking an ice nap.

I just finished the game last week so my memory is pretty fresh.
there is no question that Hojo is the father. Lucrecia chose him because she felt sorry for him
being shadowed by professor Gast's accomplishments and all.
and them agreeing to inject jenova's cell into Sephiroth that was because they still weren't aware that jenova wasn't an ancient and probably though it was a good thing for him.
Vincent regrets and sins were explained by him, how he was late to act to stop them from doing the experiment on Sephiroth, and when he did.. well..he died?

Definitely one of the weirder parts of an already weird story.

I'm interested to see how it gets adapted in VII:R

My memory might have failed me but didn't he find out about Jenova not being his mother and switched his goal to becoming a god by the time FF7 events took place?

I still go with Jenova was controlling him.

no he found out that Jenova wasnt an ancient, he still considers jenova something like a mother to him

The wack movie subtly points this out imo

Jenovas head + clone = new seph

but seph isnt the clone or jenova so that makes no sense if that is actually seph.

The way I see it is that jenova views seph like a perfect evolution and wants that form. *insert the hundreds of seph clones*

Jenova is a parasyte that wants to feed grow and evolve

Pretty weird that Vincent carries that much weight in 7, yet he is totally optional, I missed him on my play through.

no the clones are just aspects of his personality, he cant send a complete avatar of himself with a body similar to his, Aerith can do something similar, but doesnt for reasons, and them searching jenovas head is just sephiroths will wanting to be whole again

One of 7's biggest flaws imo, clears up quite a bit

That makes zero sense xD

Apparently Sephiroth coming back from the dead by taking over one of the Sephirothboyz with his avatar is him escaping the lifestream.

Which is fucking stupid.

lets just say that having jenova parts absorbed into his avatars makes him able to create a proper looking seph body
Yeah guess I was giving the plot a little to much credit on this end :P
Strong posting habits.

Nice and classy.
Thanks my 40 hours without sleep self approves of this feedback

I don't disagree at all xD
See shit like this is why I'm glad the remake is tweaking the story.
Same, I feel the story is the weakest part about ff7, has its moments though

Wait...Hojo is Vinnie boy's dad? AND he knocked his sons girl up? Square must of watched a crap ton of Jerry Springer back in the day.

DAYUUUM.

I think you skipped a few posts (or failed to comprehend) that already explained how it is.

tl;dr you're painfully wrong.

I still go with Jenova was controlling him.

Ultimania/Advent Children aside, I'm pretty sure the game itself heavily implies the opposite after the Jenova-DEATH boss.

Can we take a moment to appreciate non-vampire Vincent

He was a better Noctis before Noctis even existed

I always thought Vincent was an unneeded character in FF7. I think the game could have trimmed Vincent and Cait sith and there wouldn't have been much impact to the story. Maybe focus on other characters more.

Don't recruit him then. There you go; you now have your tighter narrative.

God I miss RPGs having secret characters...
