R.I.P Nutella & PB....Biscoff Spread!

It's alright i suppose, nothing you'd want to eat all the time.
I'd rather have some of the normal biscuits to dunk in my coffee.

Nutella is nothing special either, the love it gets is astounding.

This and Trader Joe's Cookie Butter are the jam. I didn't realize before this thread people equated PB and nutella anyway. I can't fathom why someone would eat nutella in a world where spread that doesn't taste like sweetened garbage exists.

True. That's why peanut butter is so good. Nutella and Speculoos are way too sweet for everyday use.

They had some of that Biscoff spread at Sprouts last year in the clearance section. Was definitely quite tasty, but yeah, no nutritional value whatsoever. Never bought another, but if you love sweet stuff, definitely pick it up and spread it on some toast.

trying to bulk and it's calorie dense and tasty so will come in handy mixing it in protein shakes

Much like the first time I tried Trader Joes Cookie Butter (which I believe is the same item, speculoos spread), I spent the next few days thinking about different ways to eat Cookie Butter. It was surreal.

lol same here

putting it on potato chips was super tempting

We've had that stuff for years were i live, i think its vile and disgusting. It cant even stand in the shadow of nutella. It tastes horrible.

Can you expand on your usual tastes? Do you typically not enjoy sweet things.

I really enjoy sweet things, but I felt like that was disgustingly sweet. It was a few weeks ago and I gave my jar to my student kitchen to feed off. In the past few years, I've tended to favor bitter and savoury options more. For example, I love dark chocolate more than other chocolates.

PB&J is still one of the GOAT snacks.

Biscoff is overrated, payed $8 for that shit.

Nutella is good, but too fucking sweet.

goddammit I still need to try this.

I think I'll give it another try. Is jelly in American English jam?

Joe's cookie butter is the same thing as Biscoff spread.

That's disappointing. I didn't hate Biscoff, I actually thought it tasted good. But the way people were shitting on PB and praising it I thought it would be godtier. I still prefer my cheaper, larger servings of PB. People need to stop buying that shitty Walmart brand stuff. PB is awesome. Although, I do understand some just don't like it period.

I guess you can say that, I buy seedless blackberry preserves/jam/jelly that is sugar free and a good source of fiber. It is delicious when served with the PB I buy, and has the perfect amount of sweetness for me. As I do not like overly sugary things.

American Peanutbutter is horrible compared to the Divine Peanut Butter of Mount Olympus that is

I found (and bought) one of those last month from a speciality supermarket. Interestingly enough, they also had Biscoff spread, but I left that one on the shelf. Gotta watch the calories! Next time I'll get it.

Anyway, I still have some Pindakaas left in the jar and let me tell you, it is good. Probably as good as peanut butter gets. But, to my untrained, non-Dutch palate, it's not that different from regular, good peanut butter from other brands. I mean, how do you fuck up blending a bunch of peanuts? Actually I'd rather have crunchy peanut butter from any other brand than smooth Pindakaas (I'll have to try the crunchy one).

Underwhelmed.

Never tried Biscoff Spread but I have tried Trader Joe's Cookie Butter. If Biscoff is anything similar then odds are I'd enjoy it.

I kind of need to lay off, though. I went a little crazy and finished a jar of cookie butter WAY faster than I should have. Just couldn't stop.

As for Nutella, I don't see why it'd have to RIP. Or Peanut butter for that matter. Things like Biscoff spread are alternatives, NOT replacements.

That said, these days I really only use Nutella and PB when making weed edibles at home. I treat the cookie butter stuff like an actual snack/dessert.

There are so many different kinds of spreads out there. I also enjoy almond butter, cashew butter, sunflower seed butter, apple butter, etc. "Spreaders" have it good.

Shit like this has to be illegalized for the sake of our children.
It's clear as day that humans as a whole lack the self-discipline to consume Biscoff spread in moderate quantities and avoid getting obese.

I decided to grab a jar of Biscoff spread at the store today.

It doesn't taste much different than the Trader Joe's kind that I'm already familiar with. In short, it's delicious.

That said, for some reason it seemed "richer" than the other cookie butter. It seemed more...buttery, I guess? Or oily? Fatty? Something. Because of this I can't say it's better or worse than the alternative; it'll come down to personal textural preference.

Apologies for the bump but I couldn't find any other Biscoff threads.

So I FINALLY decided to try this cookie spread out. I purchased the smooth version.

And my reaction is...eh...

It tastes nice, but it isn't THAT good. I ate about 50g of it, but honestly, I could have stopped after 5-10g. On the other hand, I have no control when it comes to Nutella.

I'd give it a solid 7/10 at best.

I can't believe I was so hyped to try it out. I was salivating when I opened the jar due to some of the reactions of the thread.

Is the crunchy version better?

Bro, I got over this stuff so fast. It was a fad.

Nutella 4 lyfe.

Haha I'm glad I wasn't the only one then.

This has to be the most overrated this I have ever purchased. I certainly won't buy another one, and I could easily live in a world without Biscoff.

Congrats on your willpower! The crunchy version is infinitely better, yes.

Speculoos is indeed spreadable crack, I had to stop eating it as it seriously screwed up my training and whatnot. It's just sooooo gooooodd.
Speculoos > Ovomaltine > idk > Nutella

I'm a little confused - why or how is the crunchy one so much better?

Honestly 400g jar is a helluva lot of spread. That's 2000 fucking calories lol. I don't know how I'm going to finish this.

I wish they would sell these things at 100g a piece.

To be honest I kind of moved on from Nutella. It was amazing at first but in terms of "spreads" I've gone back to natural peanut butter (where the only ingredient is peanuts) such as Teddy and Crazy Richard's, and cookie butter spreads such as Biscoff and Trader Joe's.

With Nutella, it's pretty easy to get bored of it since it's basically like eating really rich chocolate. Takes forever to go through a jar. With cookie spreads I can't get enough, probably because I prefer eating a cookie to eating a piece of chocolate.
