Ouendan sounds interesting, but not $130 interesting.

Advanced Wars, Mario Kart, Warioware all fall under the banner of Nintendo games I do not like. I don't care for SRPG games. I've never gotten into the kart game craze, never - not back on the SNES when Mario Kart first came out. Warioware is just a poor man's Bishi Bashi Special 3 - filled to bursting with hideous Nintendo mascots and less fun to play.

Nintendogs is the poster child for everything that's wrong with the DS. I've tried the demo multiple times, and I simply did not get it. I'll take a good Final Fight clone over this crap any day of the week.

I'm not a fan of dull turn based RPG's so that rules out Square across the board. No Rocket Slime, no Valkyrie Profile. None of that crap.

I'm just not a fan of the sort of games Nintendo makes. I prefer strong third party offerings, like on the GBA, PSP, and PS2. Even my GC library is third party wacky games.

I'd be interested in trying out the Castlevania games, but the first one sounds awful; what with having to draw the symbols on the touch screen. That's the sad sort of gimmickry I'm not interested in. From what I've read the sequel ditches that mechanic, but still not something I'm going to run out and blow $130 on.



I'm not talking about the handheld market, and the Wii; regardless of net-nerd hype is still an unproven commodity. Back here in reality, the GC has long since been trampled; and Nintendo clings to life through the DS. Which N-fans seem to think translates to success in the TV console arena.



I'm sorry you're not at all familiar with saving loose change, but like I said - I've already pulled out $17.50; and I'll post the tally once I wrap the rest.

This is like 2004 all over again, I just can't see why people still prefer the PSP over the DS.
And rocket slime isn't an RPG (atleast not in the DQ/FF kind of way), and most importantly, Advance Wars isn't an SRPG, really shows how much you know about those crappy nintendo(ish) games, have you ever even tried Advance Wars?

That's why there's buyer's choice. You don't have to buy Point Blank DS or Brain Training. Then, there are games like... Advance Wars, New SMB, Castlevania, Mario Kart, Meteos, Mario & Luigi, Ouendan, Final Fantasy III.

AND NONE INVOLVE WAGGLEOMG!

Fortunately Snowblind and Raven Studios are catering to my smash'n hoard gene with games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Justice League Heroes.

As for Advanced Wars - from what I've seen of it, it's just not my kind of game. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, and neither should you. Playing it most likely won't change my mind as I also played Mario 64 back in the day, and hated it.

The last SRPG I played and enjoyed was Vandal Hearts. Before that, Dragon Force, before that Dune 2 on the PC. And with the passage of time and surplus of games in genres I actively give a shit about, I really don't care if more come out that I may enjoy; because I'm enjoying what I'm playing now.

Hell someone sent me a copy of Field Commander as a gift, and that went straight up on eBay.

Okay, another bitch about Pursuit Force is there's no quantifiable reward for driving better. Here is where the game could have swiped series input from the Burnout series, what was that mode where you crash cars; and by avoiding NPC cars you built up a burnout meter or something?

Offensive and defensive driving should be rewarded in terms of enabling to achieve a higher score/ranking.

The Justice meter is a nice addition, but always seems to spring up when the enemy is a couple miles off; so instead of using it to inflict massive damage - you generally use it to heal.

I'd gladly trade healing ability for a turbo button to catch mofos faster. Especially on some of the "boss" like levels.

The jumping mechanic could also be tweaked to cater to twitch game play. So you can reflexively jump to a vehicle instead of awaiting a prompt, which really detracts from the overall thrill-a-minute presentation of the game.

Still a damned fine original product. Just hope we get to see some substantial improvement in the sequel.
