I already own the OG disc and delisted PSN versions but I'll still cop this. Surprised they didn't go the UE5 route like they did in the Delta homage stages in R-Type Final 3 Evolved.. Still, as long as the controls are as latency free as possible, I'm happy.

Looks like they touched it up, but it's disappointing they didn't fix the texture warping. I believe I've seen emulated versions of it using PGXP and it looks a lot cleaner than this version. Hopefully they fix it before launch.

Its fantastic. Not a true HD remaster, but rather a cleaned up PS1 game. Its just why I like this one. They didn't destroy menus or added useless particles or break the original atmosphere. Its the PSX game, the IQ is cleaner, fps is 60, there is wide support and the input lag feels like 0. I don't have to fire up the PS3 for this anymore.

Cheap attempt compared to some other HD remasters? Perhaps. But imo they didn't fuck anything up and R-Type Delta HD is sure as hell better than Final.

Practice mode with section select is awesome. That way I can train the fucking underwater parts of S2 lol.

Apparently, the ending is sped up compared to the original. There is also a missing warping effect. Not certain if they will fix it.

I can now beat stage 1-4 rather consistently also thanks to practice mode. Stage 5 however.. i need to find rhythm for that.

One of the best shmups ever. Perhaps THE best hori. I think it edges out Einhander and G-Darius.

Forget Final. This game is better.
