Rare Replay shows how bad Ps2 games are on Ps4

Tell me why games need to be higher than others in price? What is the logical reason.

Gta and gta sa are same size same quality?

What are you even talking about? Why are some games more expensive than others? I dont know. GTA5 PS4 was $110 AUD at most stores here, yet Bloodborne never seemed to go above $90.

I dont know why that happens. I dont take offense to it, though.

This right here. Not saying Rare Replay is bad but like 70% of those games are throw away in my opinion.

So that would leave about 9 games still worth playing. Hmm 9 vs 1. Man Rogue Galaxy must be some fucking amazing game to be better then 9 games.
Rare replay is an amazing value. I'm not going to shit on sony for what they're doing though. They want money and people will buy em. Still the asinine things being said are ridiculous.

Less games sold also means less money and that is what they are trying hard to get.
Even with all their business mistakes over the past decade or so, I would trust the business acumen of their marketing department on pricing these games over yours 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 day of the year.

It just seemed like you were painting MCC as a bad deal, which it isn't.

Not at all.... i had a choice to buy halo after already owning all the other halos previously on 360 and i did

I just really dont see the difference between this and halo mcc, gears hd, or rare replay honestly

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out how it's a bad thing Sony priced these games the way there are.

I mean it's a business and their goal is to maximize profits. Don't like the price? Don't buy it. They owe you nothing and the sense of entitlement baffles me.

Why?

Your niche anime taste doesn't discredit an entire critically acclaimed developers library, but it's cute none the less.

Let's not do this. Value is in the eye of the beholder, not in each others biases.

Hey, give me Phantom Dust, Panzer Dragoon Orta cleaned up with trophies and I'll pay 15 as well.

Give me Mario Sunshine at 1080p for 15 and I'm in. Nothing wrong.

I doubt Sony cares what you think about their plans. Plenty of people will eat up these games for $15 a pop and they know it.

I am disappointed in you Sony and if we don't stand together they will get by with doing us wrong.

I believe we can make a difference if we stand together.

Ha. Haha. HAHAHAHAHA!

You can charge more for something and sell fewer copies but still make more money in total.
Also true.

I could sell 1,000 copies of Dark Cloud at $5 and make $5,000 or sell 500 copies at $15 and make $7,500.

Higher prices doesn't necessarily equate to less revenue.

Achievements tons of games, and has been as low as a dollar a game.

Ps2 is about as sorry as I can imagine and heretic always considered 10 dollars to be too high.

It really stings that they aren't doing transfers for games I already bought three or more times in some cases.

Sony is have no issue paying 10 for a lot of games.

But I simply won't buy anymore at all with your current plans. I know you want money but this just isn't the way to do it.

I really hope Microsoft can bring some of these titles such as gta over looking better and at 10 dollars from og Xbox.

Sony has ridiculous prices on psnow as well. They have been doing this all generation.

<late> how dare Sony charge that amount on things they don't own so the owners set the price of

I just dont care about old playstation games. I dont know why.

Gim,e an old pc game or a gamecube game or anything, but an old sony game just doesnt trigger something for me.

So i guess the psnow and this etc just dont even register for me so i dont care,

Nintendo have SNES and N64 games on the Virtual Console for 9.99 with no resolution bump, why does no one complain about that?

I complained about Nintendo and their pricing back on Wii when I spent $150 on VC. Different discussion and can of worms for me.

Did I say the entire library wasn't worth $30? No, I just said I'd rather spend $15 on something else.

It's not worth $30. It's one of the worst collections I've ever had the misfortune of buying, because unlike Sega, Capcom, Midway, and Namco Collections, Rare's old stuff doesn't hold up.

Yup. To me the pricing is fine. Most PS1 and PS2 classics are 5-10 bucks. This program prices the games between 10-15 bucks. It makes sense. The price imo shouldn't be an issue and if it is either don't buy it or wait for a sale.

Again I've stated this countless times but I do think Sony should offer some sort of upgrade program.

This doesn't make any sense. If it was just disc compatibility, none of the people involved would get money as the PS2 market is practically all second-hand sales.

Just releasing these PS2 games on PS4 means more money, not less money in any situation.

Yup. That has set a precedent. Sony charging $15 for PS2 games with trophy support and uprendering, for only $5 more?

But Sony is insane, and insulting all of us, right?

like it but not to chapter 3 yet. And it looks quite nice.

Oh it looks good, but it becomes a mess. Those controls become the ultimate chore. Banjo Nuts and Bolts, don't get me started. They even tried to fix JFG because it was dated as all hell on a modern controller, but still is a mess. Battletoads, I dare you to beat the rolling ball level even with cheats. You have to be a prodigy or suffered 1000 deaths to get close. Conker is clunky compared to the remake, Viva Pineata is as bad as it sounds. There is a few that are decent, but its mostly just a shinny rehash. The 360 remasters can just be purcased seperately.

It's free, and it has online.
And saves transfer. And there's forced V-sync, so no more screen tear.

You could do that before they added 100 Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One.

If you owned a Xbox 360 & the games on the list you only gained space under your TV,

Edit: & V-sync.

Nintendo is selling NES games like Urban Champion and Pinball for $5 each.

I know some people are mad at Sony's pricing, but Twisted Metal Black for $10 is not some horrible deal.

If your only defense is a comparison with Nintendo online services, you know you dun goofed

Didn't you mean what the value added difference was between XBO BC and PS4 BC?
Does coop work on PS4 BC?
And resolution counts but not the lack of screen tear?

Are you claiming that consumers cannot dispute the value of a good? About anything? Gas? Food? Medicine? Shoes?

That is a weird idea. It's a short step to arguing that market regulation doesn't make sense because markets never fail.

The amount of content in most of these isn't too far off from a last generation game, and I'm sure the amount of testing and engineering that went into the process isn't far off from a bare bones HD remaster.

I think it's fine to charge $15/$10 and offer sale discounts occasionally. I'll probably pick up one game to see how it works and maybe others on down the road.

It would have been better if they were ps2 classics transferred over but this is what we have. Take it or leave it. There's no shortage of new games to play.

Couch coop should as it has shareplay support.

There is a huge difference between medicine and video games.

You're the one comparing video games to essentials, not him.

If you read this thread, you would see thats not my only defense.

But lololol riight?

EDIT: And as I said up there, plenty of people buy VC stuff on the Wii and Wii U. $5 less than what Sony is charging for a ROM, pretty much. So how is this going to kill Sony, or destroy the game market, as people are claiming?
